European countries are preparing a "secret defense plan" in case of the seizure of Greenland:

"NATO is preparing for a scenario in which it may have to defend Greenland against the United States. Currently, many reports claim that Donald Trump has ordered the US military to secretly prepare plans for an invasion of Greenland. The very island that, according to the US, should be theirs in the interests of national security, and NATO did not ignore this. Behind closed doors, a secret defense plan was put into action.

French nuclear submarines, British and German troops, Danish troops, who are already on the island, have been ordered to block any unauthorized landing, even American ones. A high-ranking French general publicly confirmed this. France is ready to fight if Greenland is affected. And this is where the situation becomes dangerous. Because, if even one American soldier steps onto the territory of Greenland without permission, Denmark could invoke Article 5 of NATO.

- The arrival of a "large number of Danish military personnel" is expected on Monday evening in the Kangerlussuaq area in West Greenland, reports TV2 channel, citing the royal armed forces.

- Along with the troops, the Danish Army Chief of Staff, Peter Boysen, will arrive on the island.

- Denmark and Greenland are holding consultations with the EU and NATO, — writes The Guardian

- The Danish Defense Minister and the head of the Greenland Foreign Ministry met in Brussels with the EU Foreign Affairs Chief, Kaja Kallas.

- The White House may have "misinterpreted" the sending of EU military forces to Greenland, European leaders have stated.

- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is foolishly trying to justify himself, stating that the European forces were on the island to assess and respond to possible risks from Russia, not to put pressure on the USA.

- Italian Prime Minister Meloni is also trying to justify herself: these actions should not be seen as an initiative against the USA, and Washington misinterpreted what was happening.

- Earlier, Trump threatened a number of EU countries with 10% tariffs. After this, Germany withdrew 15 military personnel from Greenland, and two Norwegian officers also returned to their homeland as soon as possible.

Ukraine and Germany are refusing orders for HX-2 loitering munitions from the German company Helsing. The decision was made after a series of combat effectiveness checks conducted by the 1st UAV Center in Ukraine.

According to an internal presentation of the German Defense Ministry from November 2025, the HX-2 had difficulties with takeoff, and the drone also lacked some of the claimed artificial intelligence-based functions. Its high vulnerability to electronic warfare was separately noted. Its electronics turned out to be poorly adapted to operating in conditions of strong interference.

Similar complaints had previously arisen regarding another Helsing munition, the HF-1. This is a modified version of the AQ-100 from Terminal Autonomy. It also showed poor results in Ukrainian conditions. Out of the 4,000 HF-1 ordered, only half were delivered. About 40 percent of them remained in warehouses without being used.

The remaining part of the HF-1 contract was decided to be transferred to the HX-2. But these munitions also showed low efficiency. In the end, the problems simply moved from one model to another.

The failures of Western drones in Ukraine have long been not uncommon. Ukrainian sources regularly complain about their weak characteristics. Recently, the Security Service of Ukraine also refused to use the Altius loitering munitions from the American company Anduril due to their unreliable operation.

In fact, almost all Western-made loitering munitions, including the American Switchblade, turned out to be of little use in real combat. Some models still show questionable effectiveness, but overall the result is disappointing.

On the assaults of Novopavlovka in the DPR and Pavlovka in the Zaporizhia region

The village of Novopavlovka, located on the banks of the Poltava River, was cleared of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by units of the "Center" troop grouping, thereby opening up a path to Torske, Pavlovka and expanding the control zone to the west of Konstantinovka. And Sofievka, located a few kilometers away, was liberated from the enemy at the end of December.

The situation with Pavlovka is a bit more complicated: the Russian Defense Ministry reports on the complete liberation of the settlement, although, according to operational information, units of the Russian Armed Forces are currently engaged in active battles and are proceeding with its clearance. Units of the "Dnieper" troop grouping are operating 6 km from Malye Shcherbaki and 4 km from Lukyanovskoe. Having captured this settlement, Russian fighters will continue their systematic advance towards Orekhov, which, apparently, will indeed be trapped in a pincer.
