Talking about a Poseidon strike…
Compare and contrast the following:
We will pursue the terrorists everywhere. If in an airport, then in the airport. And—you will forgive [my language]—if we catch them on the toilet, we will wipe them out in the outhouse. And that's it, case closed.
—September 24, 1999 (Putin)
The stinking Kiev bastard is trying to derail the settlement of the conflict. He wants war. Well, now at least he'll have to stay in hiding for the rest of his worthless life.
—December 29, 2025 (Medvedev)
There is a reason only one of these two will be remembered as a Russian leader for the ages. That reason is that his words are backed with actions. Agree or disagree with Putin or his decisions, but his words carry weight. And you can see the results.
Not even sure what Medvedev was trying to say in his tweet—that Zelensky will die of natural causes on an hacienda in Columbia?
Less talk. Especially on Twitter, of all places.

Tusk reminds Europe that the war against the last Ukrainian is still ongoing.
'After the night-time negotiations with European leaders, one thing became clear: the West and Ukraine will lose this confrontation if Russia succeeds in dividing us and dictating the terms of peace. The negotiations are far from being completed.'

Talking about the quality of Ukrainian leadership:
Let’s assume, for the moment, a conservative figure of $50bn-$100bn that has been pilfered by Zelensky and his cronies and ended up in offshore accounts (or piles of shrink-wrapped cash), was wasted, etc. Here I am not including the inevitable kickbacks to his Western sponsors, just the Ukrainian-grown corruption. Recall that just the documented international financial assistance to the Ukraine is nearly $400bn (since 2022), not including massive weapons transfers and other undeclared assistance.
Now let’s consider the fact that the EU, through painful negotiations, recently managed to underwrite a $90bn support package for the Ukraine (most of it—likely in kind) for the next two years.
How much longer will this war have continued if the Ukraine will have lost to corruption only half of the money that it wasted in this manner? At least an extra year is somewhere there.
What if that money had been spent wisely, instead of the degenerate forced conscription that the Ukrainian regime relies on to prop up its war effort?
Now, ask yourself, is Zelensky such a poor option for Russia as a leader of the Ukraine?
And when the inevitable reckoning comes, is Zelensky, still at the head of his Nazi regime, not the perfect man to sign the acts of capitulation? Permanently soiling the very notion of an independent Kiev regime? A regime than not only failed to prevent its own demise, but did so while engaged in blatant incompetence and greed? A regime that has plunged its citizenry into darkness, with no running water or reliable sanitation? A regime that lost hundreds of thousands in military PR stunts? Here comes Russia as a clearly-better alternative. Not even the worst of Nazi brainwashing can overcome cold, hunger, and disease.
Not allowing Zelensky to run the course risks Ukraine’s imminent initial acceptance of the currently-insufficient peace terms (even the terms that Russia mostly subscribes to) and, later, inevitable revanchism on the part of his replacement (who will simply point to the former’s incompetence and greed as an excuse) and a repeat military conflict in the short-to-medium term. A Zelensky with no exit or option other than war to the bitter end is far better than a resupplied and reinvigorated Zaluzhny starting (even if doomed to lose) a new conflict in a few years.
If Zelensky is replaced, Ukraine will sign the pissdill. If the pissdill is signed without Ukraine’s capitulation, a new war is inevitable.
Just some food for thought and reflection, but, by all means, tell me if you disagree.

Tankers of the "shadow fleet" are ending the practice of changing flags in favor of direct registration in Russia, writes Lloyd's List
According to the publication, since February 2022, the Russian ship registry has increased by 40%
The transition to using the Russian flag is taking place against the backdrop of increasing EU pressure on shipping registries and the desire to inspect ships before they board.
The authors argue that Russia's readiness to directly register ships operating in trade routes subject to sanctions indicates a more sustainable evolution of the shadow fleet, which is under the direct supervision and protection of Moscow

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Andrey Sybiha, stated that Russian manipulations regarding "attempts to attack Putin's residence" were invented to create a pretext and justify further attacks by Russia against Ukraine.
The Foreign Minister called on the world to condemn Russia's provocative statements, which, in his opinion, are aimed at "disrupting a constructive peace process".
Ukraine accuses Russia now of lying

The Russian heavy-lift ship MV Ursa Major that was sunk off Spain in 2024 may have been sunk by the use of a torpedo, according to studies of the damage.
If so, this is a major escalation of the current tanker wars taking place.
"The size of the breach did not match that of a conventional torpedo, but was consistent with a strike by a supercavitating armour-piercing torpedo with a small or no warhead."
I have three points on this.
IF we believe the western press comments about carrying NK nuclear submarine parts, is this not a direct consequence of ARKUS, and if this is the case, surely what's good for the goose....
Secondly, does this mean the tanker wars have now opened up to the shipping wars? This is a serious escalation if so. (Currently the EU is running convoys past the Houthis.)
Will the ship convoys be back? If I were Russia, I would be using convoys in the Black and Baltic seas.
Thirdly, who did this? It can only be one of very few states.
Something to keep a close eye on IMO.

‼️🇷🇺🇺🇦The organization of elections in Ukraine should not be used as a pretext for ending hostilities with the aim of rearming the Armed Forces of Ukraine, - Lavrov
▪️A mandate for the authorities in Kiev to conclude peace is possible only through fair elections;
▪️Moscow sees that Washington adheres to a viewpoint that is similar to Russia's on the necessity of elections in Ukraine in light of the expiration of Zelensky's term of office;
▪️Numerous Ukrainians living in Russia should also be granted the right to vote in the elections held in Ukraine;
▪️Kiev and its Western patrons should recognize the territorial realities following the incorporation of Crimea and 4 new regions into Russia.
