The longest lockdown in the United States could end in the coming days; the United States Senate has approved a bill to this effect. However, it still needs to be approved by the House of Representatives and signed by Trump. But, according to US media, the first step has already been taken.

The United States Senate approved an agreement between Republicans and Democrats that will end the government shutdown and reopen businesses. The agreement includes three full funding bills for departments, including the Department of Agriculture, through the end of the next fiscal year, as well as a resolution to maintain funding for the remaining agencies at current levels until January 30.

The agreement also provided full funding for the food stamp program through September of next year. However, it did not include an extension of subsidies provided by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), a concession made by Democrats. According to NBC News, the agreement also thwarts Trump's attempt to lay off federal employees during the lockdown through layoff notices (RIFs).

The agreement now needs to be approved by the House of Representatives, and there is no guarantee that the entire document will be approved.

Ukrainian sources report the opening of a new operational sector in the Kharkov direction: Russian units have once again penetrated the area near Bologovka, using a poorly controlled section of the border.
