St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College invites applications for its second cohort of fellows in Adult Hematology and Medical Oncology for the academic year 2025/2026. This subspecialty fellowship includes:
• International attachment to a globally renowned center
• Comprehensive mentorship by both local and international experts
• Rigorous academic and clinical training
🗓️ Please note: Registration has been extended until July 31, 2025 in response to numerous requests from interested applicants seeking additional time to prepare.
🔍 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Hold a specialty certificate in Internal Medicine, Clinical Oncology, or Hematology from a recognized university
2. Be licensed by the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia
3. Pass admission screening by the Department of Internal Medicine, including:
• 📑 Document review
• 750-word letter of intent
• Updated CV
• Two professional recommendation letters (one from current workplace and one from residency mentors)
• Sponsoring institution’s support letter
• 📝 Entrance examination (written and interview)
4. Originate from regions lacking adequate adult hemato-oncologic services
5. Demonstrate physical and mental fitness to meet program demands
6. Have no active criminal record or ethics violations
7. Achieve a passing score on the National Graduate Admission Test (NGAT)

Dr. Abdu Adem Appointed to ASCO Regional Council
Dr. Abdu Adem, senior physician at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, has been appointed as Ethiopia’s representative to the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Council.
In this role, Dr. Abdu works with other council members to support cancer care and oncology professionals across the region. His contributions play a key role in shaping ASCO’s programs and services in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College community warmly congratulates Dr. Abdu on this international achievement and celebrates his commitment to advancing cancer care in Ethiopia and beyond.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to oncology services and medical education, the college also presented Dr. Abdu with a special award in April 2025.

We are pleased to share that our latest research titled Substantial co-trimoxazole resistant S. aureus nasal carriage despite low colonization among people living with HIV in Ethiopia" has Just been published in scientific reports.
Our data demonstrated that among PLWHA co-trimoxazole prophylaxis (dosage 400–80 mg/day), was associated to less nasal S. aureus colonization with an increased CoNs colonization over time. Furthermore, participants with a CD4 + cell count of less than 350 cells/mm3 were carrying higher COTRSA and CoNS as opposed to participants with a CD4 + cell count of more than 350 cells/mm3 were carrying higher COTSSA and lower CoNS.

በስብሰባው ለውይይቱ መነሻ የሚሆን ሰነድ በአስተዳደር ልማት ም/ዳይሬክተሩ በአቶ ጀማል ሽፋ ዝርዝር ገለፃ በማድረግ የቀረበ ሲሆን በመድረኩም ሀገራዊ የልማትና የጤናው ዘርፍ እቅድ ቀርቦ ሰፊ ውይይት ከተደረገበት በኃላ በውይይቱም ከተሳታፊዎች አስተያየቶች እና ጥያቄዎች በስፋት የተነሱ ሲሆን እንደ ሀገር የመጡ ለውጦችን በማጠናከር ክፍተቶችን አቅዶ መስራት እንደሚያስፈልግም ተገልጿል፡፡

በመጨረሻም የእለቱ የክብር እንግዳ በክብርት ወ/ሮ ፍሬህይወት አበበ ተሰጥቶ ስብሰባው ተጠናቋል፡፡

በዚህ የመክፈቻ ሥነ ሥርዓት ክብርት ወ/ሮ ፍሬሕይወት አበበ የጤና ሚኒስቴር ሚንስትር ዴኤታ ተገኝተው የክረምት ነጻ የጤና ምርመራውን መርሐግብር በይፋ ከፍተዋል: : ክብርት ሚንስትርዋ በመክፈቻው ሥነ ሥርዓት ኮሌጁ ማሕበረሰቡን በዚህ መንገድ በተጠናከረ መንገድ ለማገልገል ያለውን ቁርጠኝነት ያሳያል ብለዋል: :
የኮሌጁ ምክትል የልማት ና የአስተዳደር ምክትል ፕሮቮስት አቶ ጀማል ሺፋ በበኩላቸው እንደተናገሩት 50,000 የሚደርሱ ዜጎች በሰሞኑ የጤና አገልግሎት ነጻ ሕክምና እንዲያገኙ እቅድ ተይዟል:: በተጨማሪም ለቀዶ ሕክምና ለማግኘት ይጠባበቁ ከነበሩት መካከል በቁጥር 200 የሚደርሱት በዚህ ሳምንት አገልግሎቱን እንዲያገኙም ይደረጋል ብለዋል : :
በዚህ ለአንድ ሳምንት በሚቆየው የጤና ምርመራ ማንኛውም ሰው አገልግሎቱን ማግኘት እንደሚችል ተገልጿል::
ባለፈው ዓመት ኮሌጁ በሰጠው ተመሣሣይ ነጻ አገልግሎት በሀገር አቀፈ ደረጃ እውቅና ማግኘቱ ይታወሣል: :
