Admission requirements
1. The applicant should only be who took Ethiopian higher education entrance examination (EHEEE) in 2024 GC (2016EC)
2. Ethiopian higher education entrance examination (EHEEE) result should be:
a. For Afar, Benshangul-Gumz, Borena (Oromia), Gambella, Somali, South Omo (South Ethiopia), West Omo(South west Ethiopia), Wagimera (Amhara):
For Male 450 and above
For Female 425 and above
b. For All other regions:
i. For those examined out of 600
For Male 500 and above
For Female 475 and above
ii. For those examined out of 700
For Male 580 and above
For Female 555 and above

3. The transcript average mark from 9th -12th grade should be 80% and above.
4. High school transcript from 9th -12th grade should be uploaded.
5. EHEEE result print out that show clear admission number should be uploaded.
6. Application fee of 250 Birr should be paid and the receipt should be uploaded.
7. The application will be complete if all necessary information is filled and uploaded. Incomplete applications will not be shortlisted

● Written examination accounts 55% and will cover situational judgment tests, visual, spatial, numeric & verbal reasoning questions
● Multiple mini interview (20%) (only for short listed applicant's)
● Academic records accounts 25% (Transcript 5% and EHEEE result 20%)
● The maximum intake capacity of the college is 75 students
● From the total Intake 20% will be accepted from the following emerging regions andzone: Afar, Benshangul-Gumz, Borena (Oromia), Gambella, Somali, South Omo (South Ethiopia), West Omo(South west Ethiopia), Wagimera (Amhara)

Executive Director Message on World Pharmacists Day 2024


The Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Association (EPA) is an Association of pharmacy professionals in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The Association was founded in 1974 with the objectives of upholding the honor and ethics of pharmacy profession, safeguarding members’ professional rights and work with all stakeholders to enable the public to get quality pharmacy services.
In line with this the EPA has been celebrating various professional events annually with the aim of creating networking plat form for pharmacy professionals and sharing knowledge and experience on selected topics of current importance to the profession. One of the main annual events colorfully commemorated by the Association is the world pharmacists’ day which falls on 25th of September every year.
This year, the World Pharmacists Day is is scheduled to be commemorated on 25 September 2024 for the 14th time with a theme of “Elevating Ethical Standards and Professionalism in Pharmacy Practice”. Three presentation topics on “Public Health Diplomacy and the Role of Pharmacists in Global Health Negotiations”, “Leadership in Pharmacy for Driving Change and Innovation in Healthcare” and “Enhancing Ethical Standards and Professionalism in Pharmacy Practice” will be presented to the event attendees.
On the occasion of the 14th World Pharmacists’ Day, EPA would like to remind and encourage its members to demonstrate the highest possible standards of professional ethics and professionalism in providing pharmacy service to the public. In addition, it is time for pharmacists to capitalize on cultivating the soft skills in negotiation and cordial engagement with all stakeholders including healthcare team members. Finally we would like to strongly encourage pharmacists to develop their leadership capacity in a way to prepare themselves to the next level of professional responsibility in the health care system.

World Pharmacists Day. September 25, 2024

My memories

I graduated in pharmacy in 2007 G.C. and started working at Saint Paul's Hospital in October 2008 G.C.

When I started my pharmacy career, I was a junior pharmacist and had served for about two years before I went to a master's degree study.

During these years, I was a professional, energetic, optimistic, too kind, and caring. I love the profession very much. I believe that hospitals are highly secular areas. The service is for all human kinds, regardless of race, politics, family background, training, economic level, and other factors.

Though the bills of medicines were lower, there were many patients who could not afford them. These moments were tough to me.

When I met very poor patients crying, my heart melted. I took them to the social affairs of the hospital to get free medicines.

The many struggles I had were trying to correct the patients drug prescriptions, such as drug use during pregnancy, drug combination therapies, doses, duration, and other patient-related co-morbidities.

I had communications with prescribers. In most of the encounters, we solved them smoothly. But I understood there were also communication gaps from both sides.

Giving service as part of the team of the health task force in the hospital to patients who are in a higher demand of getting your service is a blessing.

However, since 2013 G.C., I started working in academics. I teach pharmacology and toxicology for medicine students, residents, and nurses in our institution.

On this World Pharmacists Day, I acknowledge all pharmacy professionals for their dedicated service they're delivering in the country.

We are pleased to announce that our own colleague Rahel Mezemir Abebe, from School of Nursing,  has successfully defended her PhD dissertation entitle "Cesarean section delivery rate and surgical site infections in Ethiopia: Evidence from natural survey and longitudinal study" and completed her PhD in Reproductive Health at Pan African University, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

We, Saint Paul´s Community, congratulate her and wish a successful future professional career.
