🇷🇺 Excerpts from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement following the use of long-range Western weapons against the Russian Federation:

📍 November 21, 2024

• In continuing their course of escalating the conflict in Ukraine, which was provoked by the West, the US and its NATO allies have previously announced their approval for the use of their long-range, high-precision weaponry against the territory of the Russian Federation. The use of such weapons is impossible without the direct involvement of military specialists from the countries that produce them.

• On November 19, six ATACMS operational-tactical missiles manufactured in the US, and on November 21, during a combined missile attack using Storm Shadow systems manufactured in the UK and HIMARS systems manufactured in the US, strikes were carried out on military facilities in the Russian Federation’s Bryansk and Kursk regions.

❗️ From this moment, as we have previously stated, the regional conflict in Ukraine, whish was provoked by the West, has acquired global elements.

• In response to the use of American and British long-range weapons on November 21, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces launched a combined strike on one of Ukraine's defense industry facilities. This operation also served as a testing ground for one of Russia's newest intermediate-range missile systems, in this case equipped with a hypersonic ballistic missile in a non-nuclear configuration. Our missile specialists have nicknamed it "Oreshnik" (the Hazel).

• Existing air defense systems worldwide, including the missile defense systems being developed by the US in Europe, are incapable of intercepting such missiles.

• The development of intermediate- and shorter-range missiles is being carried out as a response to US plans to produce and deploy such missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. We believe that the US made a mistake by unilaterally dismantling the INF Treaty in 2019 under a contrived pretext.

• Let me reiterate: the testing of the "Oreshnik" missile system in combat conditions is our response to NATO countries' aggressive actions against Russia. Decisions regarding further deployment of intermediate- and shorter-range missiles will be made depending on the actions of the US and its satellites.

• Targets for subsequent testing of our advanced missile systems will be determined based on the threats to the security of the Russian Federation. We reserve the right to use our weapons against military facilities in countries that allow their weapons to be used against our facilities. In the event of further escalation, we will respond decisively and symmetrically.

• I emphasize once again that it was not Russia, but the US that dismantled the international security framework, and in its efforts to cling to hegemony, it is driving the world toward a global conflict.

• We have always preferred, and remain ready to resolve disputes through peaceful means. However, we are also prepared for any developments.

❗️ If anyone still doubts this, they are mistaken – there will always be a response.

📰 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" newspaper (November 27, 2024)

Key points:

#UkraineCrisis

• No matter what the adversary does to escalate the situation, it will never make us renounce efforts to achieve the special military operation’s goals.

• In Ukraine’s case, this deals with addressing the root causes of the conflict, which include the emergence of entrenched security threats for Russia along its western borders, including NATO’s eastward expansion, as well as recurrent and systematic violations by the Kiev regime of the rights of Russians and people identifying themselves as Russians in terms of their cultural affiliation and the Orthodox faith.

• A political settlement must include the demilitarization and de-Nazification, while also ensuring the unaligned, neutral, non-nuclear status for the territories controlled by the Kiev regime.

❗️Of course, any agreements will hinge upon recognising the political and territorial reality as per the Constitution of Russia.

#MiddleEast

• The situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate.

• All this directly stems from Israel’s aggressive, militarist policy, coupled with Washington’s efforts to monopolize the mediation process while throwing the UN Security Council decisions under the bus, despite the fact that these documents were adopted by consensus.

• Bringing the situation with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict back to normal is the only path to improving the situation across the Middle East, including in Lebanon. <...> Creating conditions for achieving a two-state solution would be the next step in terms of moving beyond the violent phase in this crisis.

#NOtoNeocolonialism

• The exploitation of former colonies by the colonial powers has never stopped. All it did was merely adjust its form, but the goal has remained the same, and it is to pump out resources from the countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America to sustain the West’s dominance and ensure high living standards for its people.

• The developing countries keep raising the issue of their rightful spot in the global division of labour, which, in its current form, is a stark manifestation of modern neocolonialism in and of itself.

#ClimateAgenda

• Our priority during these discussions is to depoliticize cooperation on climate issues. Our goals in this sphere should be realistic, and their implementation should promote a balanced socio-economic development of all countries.

• We regard the task of energy transition in the context of ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern sources of energy. The key role in this process belongs to natural gas, the cleanest hydrocarbon and an ideal transition fuel.

• We consistently protest against the accelerated green transformation, which Western countries are advocating. Their fixation on that subject has already caused an unjustified growth of energy prices and, consequently, unprecedentedly high prices of mineral fertilisers.

🇷🇺 Russian President Vladimir Putin during a press Q&A following his state visit to Kazakhstan and the CSTO Summit:

📍 November 28, 2024, Astana

Question: Western press is already reporting that some politicians and officials in the US and Europe are suggesting returning nuclear weapons to Kiev. How realistic is this scenario in your opinion? Or is it just an escalation tactic, a scare tactic? And if it happens, if nuclear weapons were handed over to the Kiev regime, what actions would Russia take? Could there be preventive measures? And does Ukraine’s non-nuclear status remain one of the necessary conditions for conflict resolution?

💬 Anwser: Just using common sense, what do you think we should do if a country we are essentially in conflict with becomes a nuclear power? In this case, we will use all - let me emphasize this - all weapons at Russia’s disposal. We will not allow this to happen, that’s the first point.

❗️ Second, only irresponsible individuals could make such statements – those who bear no responsibility and feel no accountability for the fate of their countries and the world.

☢️ Third, if anyone were to officially transfer nuclear weapons, it would constitute a violation of all non-proliferation commitments they have undertaken.

🇺🇦 As for Ukraine itself, we will not allow this in the first place. We will monitor its every step. Ukraine was once a highly industrialized and technologically advanced republic of the Soviet Union. But everything, or almost everything, that Soviet Ukraine could be proud of has been lost. Therefore, starting almost from scratch today would be virtually impossible. Something makeshift, as they say, a "dirty bomb", just nuclear waste from power plants could be assembled, of course. But even in this case, the response would match the severity of the threats posed to the Russian Federation.

⚡️ Amidst growing futile attempts of the 'collective West' and their Ukrainian puppets to reignite the anti-Russian sentiment by fabricating hoaxes and fakes, one should pay close attention to the well-documented evidence meticulously gathered by the Russian MFA and Investigative Committee of the Kiev regime's cruel and barbaric crimes against its own citizens, civilians, journalists, ethnic and linguistic groups.

🇵🇸 On November 29, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Gennady Gatilov, participated in a special session dedicated to the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. This significant event brought together representatives of many countries and international organizations to once again emphasize the need for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue.

🇷🇺 Russia consistently supports the efforts of the overwhelming majority of nations to end violence across the Palestinian territories and the entire region. We firmly advocate for a fair, long-term, and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian question, based on a well-established international legal framework. It envisions the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, peacefully coexisting with Israel. Only this solution can enable the people of both countries to live side by side in security and mutual respect.

❗️ Proclaimed in 1977 by the UN General Assembly, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People serves as a reminder to the global community that the rights of millions remain violated, and their struggle for freedom and self-determination remains unfulfilled. Russia continues to strongly advocate for unified international efforts focused on the prompt cessation of violence in Palestine and the entire region. We call on all parties to resolve the situation exclusively through political and diplomatic means.

🕯December 3 marks the Day of the Unknown Soldier in Russia, honouring the feat of all soldiers who perished for the Motherland, yet whose names remain unknown.

#OnThisDay in 1966, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Red Army's victory over Nazi forces in the Battle of Moscow, a ceremony of the burial of the unknown soldiers' remains was held in the Alexander Garden near the walls of the Moscow Kremlin. These remains were originally located in a mass grave on the 41st kilometre of the Leningrad Highway and were discovered during construction activities on the road. Back in 1941, during the Battle of Moscow, this very place saw fierce and bloody battles between the Soviet forces and Nazi invaders.

▪️ On May 8, 1967, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden was unveiled. "Your name is unknown, your deed is immortal", — the worldwide famous words were inscribed upon the granite slab on the Tomb. Soviet newspapers noted back then: "...he [the Unknown Soldier] was slain for his Motherland, for his home — Moscow. This is all we know about him."

💬 Marshal of the Soviet Union Konstantin Rokossovsky remarked:

"The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the ancient walls of the Moscow Kremlin shall serve as a monument of eternal glory to the heroes who died on the battlefield for their Motherland.

Henceforth, the ashes of the one who shielded Moscow with by his chest rest here".

The Eternal Flame was set at the Tomb. In December of 1997, the Honor Guard was instituted near the Eternal Flame.

In total, approximately two million Soviet and Russian citizens were reported missing in action during the wars and conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. The Russian Ministry of Defence carries out on a regular basis search operations to perpetuate the memory of heroes who perished for the Motherland.

Russian diplomats abroad are engaged in extensive efforts aimed at preserving historical memory, countering attempts to distort the history of #WWII and to question the Great Victory of the Soviet people.

The Embassies of Russia all across the world ensure the maintenance, repair and restoration of Soviet monuments and war graves.

❗️ Regrettably, as part of a disgraceful campaign to distort history of #WWII, a policy of state vandalism is being pursued in certain countries of Eastern Europe, in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland in particular, with the one aim — to eradicate Russia's memorial heritage — the monuments to Soviet heroes and liberators.

By order of the official authorities, criminal acts are being perpetrated in these countries to desecrate mass graves, when the remains of fallen soldiers are barbarically exhumed for the purpose of their subsequent "reburial in accordance with European practice" in specially designated locations.

🎗 It is prohibited for Russian compatriots in Europe, under the threat (!) of criminal prosecution, to pay tribute to heroes who fought against Nazism. The Russian MFA highlights these outrageous incidents.

The memory of all who sacrificed their lives for our future is and will remain immortal.

📸 On December 4, international photo project #WeAccuse was launched in Moscow. It was co-produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the magazine 'New Regions of Russia' journal and Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.

💬 Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-Large on the Kiev Regime's War Crimes Rodion Miroshnik:
We present the photo evidence of Ukrainian crimes in Donbass and other Russian territories adjacent to the border.

Today it is necessary to collect and present to the whole world the true face of neo-Nazism, which has seized power in Ukraine «under false flag» – using slogans of freedom, democracy, justice. These photos demonstrate the true state of affairs better than a thousand words.

None of the crimes can be forgotten or lost amid other events. None of the victims of the Kiev regime can be deprived of the realization that the perpetrator has been punished and held accountable for his crimes.

Today we are preparing the first part of this work – collecting and presenting evidence of criminal acts committed by the Kiev regime under the cover of "Western partners".

Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of the Russia Calling! investment forum held in Moscow on December 4–5. Some of the key statements by the President:

🔹Russia's potential in technology, industry, and logistics is growing; the country is strengthening its ties with budding partners. Last year, Russia's GDP grew by 3.6 percent, while in January to October of this year, it rose by 4.1 percent.

🔹Russia's high-tech industries are experiencing a growing influx of skilled workers: in September, the number of people employed in the IT sector grew by 8.1 percent compared to the previous year, while the number of employees in the manufacturing sector increased by almost 4 percent.

🔹Russia currently has a record low unemployment rate of only 2.3 percent, which is minimal compared to what most of the world's leading economies and developing countries are going through at the moment.

🔹The economic growth has a positive impact on the budget. In January to October of this year, the surplus of the country's consolidated budget and its extrabudgetary funds amounted to about 2.5 trillion rubles.

🔹An increase in the offer of goods and services available on the market, so that it meets the domestic demand both from individual consumers and businesses, should be the principal response to the challenge of inflation.

🔹Despite all the problems that Russia is facing, some of them arising due to efforts made outside its borders, fixed investment by Russian businesses is rising for the third year in a row. By the end of this decade, Russia's stock market capitalization is expected to double, amounting to two-thirds of the GDP.

🔹Russia welcomes investors from friendly countries on its stock market, but the focus is specifically on domestic funding sources, so that Russian citizens are able to invest their funds as individual investors and turn a profit in the country.

🔹In 2024, Russia launched the voluntary long-term savings support programme for its citizens. The deposits covered by the programme are insured and co-financed by the state, and a tax deduction can be received for the funds deposited. As of November 22, over 2.1 million depositors were participating in the long-term savings programme, with 145 billion rubles raised.

🔹The Bank of Russia is gradually introducing the digital ruble. As of now, over 9,000 individuals and 1,200 companies are participating in the project, and this number is growing. Starting next year, the digital ruble is expected to be used in the federal budget system, and from July 1, 2025, it should be available for all transactions across the entire country.

🔹The level of digitisation of financial services in Russia exceeds the global average, which is a testament to the considerable technological capabilities of this sector of Russian economy, as well as its future-proofness and ability to set ambitious goals and be proactive.
