✍️ Russia's President Vladimir Putin approved the new Basic Principles of State Policy of the Russian Federation on Nuclear Deterrence, signing the attendant Executive Order on November 19, 2024.
Key items:
• State policy on Nuclear Deterrence is defensive by nature, it is aimed at maintaining the nuclear forces potential at the level sufficient for nuclear deterrence, and guarantees protection of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State, and deterrence of a potential adversary from aggression against the Russian Federation and/or its allies.
• The Russian Federation considers nuclear weapons as a means of deterrence, their use being an extreme and compelled measure, and takes all necessary efforts to reduce nuclear threat and prevent aggravation of interstate relations, that could trigger military conflicts, including nuclear ones.
• The Russian Federation ensures nuclear deterrence toward a potential adversary, which is understood to mean any individual states or military coalitions (blocs, alliances) which see the Russian Federation as a potential adversary and possess nuclear arms and/or other weapons of mass destruction or conventional forces with a significant combat capability.
• Nuclear deterrence is also ensured toward any states which provide the territory, airspace, and/or maritime space under their control as well as resources for preparing and conducting an aggression against the Russian Federation.

📡 Обратили внимание на опус Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) о российских спецагентах в Швейцарии и якобы «шпионских спутниковых тарелках», установленных в Постпредстве России в Женеве. Очевидно, авторы вдохновлялись хорошо известными фильмами об агенте 007 и другой западной классикой жанра.
🕵 Чтобы прокомментировать данный материал швейцарского телеканала, нужно понять его цель. Если это попытка поднять «просмотры» и рейтинги за счёт стереотипов Холодной войны, то подобные методы вышли из моды ещё со времён провального «Рашагейта» в США.
❗️ Если это попытка изобразить серьёзную аналитику, то, объективности ради, стоит также рассказать своим читателям о том, что подобные спутниковые антенны давно устанавливаются в дипмиссиях всех без исключения крупных стран (не будем называть каких), и не только в Швейцарии, для обеспечения бесперебойной связи. Это вы можете проверить по вашим «спутниковым снимкам», также известным как Google Maps. Уточните, кстати, что «вооружённые люди» у входа в российский комплекс — это ваши же соотечественники из швейцарской службы дипломатической безопасности (Diplomatic Security Brigade), которые на самом деле очень корректны, профессиональны и прекрасно справляются со своими должностными обязанностями.
👉 Для полной картины зрителям RTS можно было бы также напомнить об американской операции «Данхаммер» по прослушиванию своих союзников в Европе, материалах Wikileaks о слежке Агентства национальной безопасности США за своими партнёрами и в других регионах мира. Дополнительно можно упомянуть, что причиной установки антенн стали многочисленные ограничения в «свободной Европе» на вещание российских телеканалов, для доступа к которым теперь тоже необходимо дополнительное оборудование.
🤷♂️ Не вызывает сомнений, что авторы «расследования» готовили его исключительно в угоду текущей русофобской повестке Брюсселя и Вашингтона. Не так ли, господа независимые журналисты? Ведь если они сами верят в то, что написали, советуем им поплотнее надеть «шапочки из фольги» на головы.

📡 We noticed the recent “investigation” by Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) about Russian agents in Switzerland and supposed “spy satellite dishes” installed at the Permanent Mission of Russia in Geneva. It’s evident the authors took creative inspiration from popular James Bond movies and other Western classics of the genre.
🕵 Before commenting on this material, it’s important to consider the Swiss broadcaster’s goal. If it’s an attempt to boost views and ratings by exploiting Cold War stereotypes, such methods fell out of fashion around the time of the failed “Russiagate” in the US.
❗️ If, on the other hand, the piece aims to present serious analysis, then, for the sake of objectivity, it’s worth informing the readers that similar satellite antennas have long been installed at diplomatic missions of all major countries (let’s not name which ones specifically), not just in Switzerland, to ensure uninterrupted communication. This fact can be easily verified using your “satellite imagery”, also known as Google Maps. For accuracy, RTS might also want to clarify that the “armed security” outside the Russian compound are actually your own compatriots from the Swiss Diplomatic Security Brigade, who, in fact, are highly professional, polite, and excel at their duties.
👉 For a more comprehensive picture, RTS viewers could also be reminded of the US “Operation Dunhammer”, which involved wiretapping its European allies, as well as WikiLeaks revelations about NSA surveillance on its partners in other regions of the world. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the installation of antennas has been prompted by numerous restrictions across “free Europe” on broadcasting Russian TV channels, which now also require additional equipment for access.
🤷♂️ It’s clear that the authors of this “investigation” released it simply to boost the current Russophobic narrative of Brussels and Washington. Isn’t that right, dear independent journalists? However, if you genuinely believe your own story, we suggest adjusting your tinfoil hats a little tighter.

📕 This event is timed to the release of the first volume of a new Security Index Yearbook by PIR Center.
☢️ I think there is no need to describe in detail the current state of affairs in the field of international security. We all observe every day how pre-existing conflicts are developing in an escalating spiral. Zones of tension are expanding. New crises are threatening to break out. And the most dangerous thing is a confrontation that involves States with military nuclear capabilities, which is fraught with a direct military clash between Nuclear Weapon States with truly catastrophic consequences.
❗️ The latest evidence of that is a recent attack with long-range American ATACMS missiles. This is a clear signal that Western countries want to further escalate international relations.
📉 We proceed from an understanding that the degradation of the international situation is primarily caused by a sharp escalation of struggle over the prospective model of the world order. The system of international treaties in the sphere of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation has been dealt a crushing blow by a narrow group of countries that are trying to resist the irreversible and inevitable process of transition to a multipolar world and thus desperately and want to ensure their political and military superiority at all costs.
🇺🇳 Moreover, it is clear that such crises also directly affect the competent international institutions. In particular, we have to note the attempts made by a number of States to politicize to the extreme and even block the work of the UN disarmament machinery, as well as other relevant international fora. The indicative example of this are the results of UNGA First Committee that has recently concluded its work.
🚨 What is even more alarming is the almost complete lack of intention of States to conduct political and diplomatic work in order to de-escalate and resolve interstate tensions. We are absolutely convinced that such work must be carried out only on the basis of equality, mutual respect for fundamental interests of parties and the principle of the indivisibility of security. Unfortunately, many of our partners, primarily from Western countries, are not ready for this yet.
🕊️ In such circumstances, we believe that the first step in reducing the conflict potential is to search for and eliminate the root causes of fundamental contradictions. In this regard specialized research and political science entities from various countries, such as PIR Center, can and must play an important role.

📕 Сегодняшнее мероприятие приурочено к выходу первого тома нового издания ПИР-центра «Security Index Yearbook».
☢️ Думаю, нет необходимости подробно описывать современное состояние дел в области международной безопасности. Все мы каждый день наблюдаем, как ранее существовавшие конфликты развиваются по эскалационной спирали, ширятся зоны напряженности. Грозят разразиться новые кризисы. Самое опасное – это конфронтация с участием государств, обладающих военным ядерным потенциалом, которая чревата прямым военным столкновением ядерных держав с поистине катастрофическими последствиями.
❗️ Последнее свидетельство тому – атака с использованием дальнобойного американского оружия ATACMS. Это явный сигнал того, что страны Запада хотят дальнейшей эскалации международных отношений.
📉 Мы исходим из того, что деградация международной обстановки вызвана прежде всего резким обострением борьбы вокруг перспективной модели мироустройства. Со стороны узкой группы стран, пытающейся сопротивляться необратимому процессу перехода к многополярному мироустройству и обеспечить себе политическое и военное превосходство, нанесён сокрушительный удар по системе международных договоров в сфере контроля над вооружениями, разоружения и нераспространения.
🇺🇳 Кроме того, очевидно, что кризисные явления в международной обстановке напрямую затрагивают также функционирование профильных международных институтов. В частности, приходится констатировать попытку со стороны ряда стран до предела политизировать и заблокировать работу как «разоруженческого» механизма ООН, так и других профильных международных площадок. Наглядным тому примером могут стать итоги завершившегося на днях Первого комитета ГА ООН.
🚨 Что ещё более тревожно, так это практически полное отсутствие намерений государств вести политико-дипломатическую работу по деэскалации и урегулированию межгосударственных трений. Такая работа, по нашему абсолютному убеждению, должна вестись только на основе равноправия, взаимного уважения коренных интересов сторон и принципа неделимости безопасности. Многие из наших партнеров, прежде всего из стран Запада, к такому, увы, пока не готовы.
🕊 В подобных условиях мы считаем, что первый шаг для снижения конфликтного потенциала – это поиск и устранение первопричин фундаментальных противоречий. И в этом важную роль могут и должны сыграть профильные исследовательские политологические структуры из различных стран мира, подобные ПИР-центру.

❗️ «Коллективный Запад» пытается подменить существующую систему международного права собственным так называемым «миропорядком, основанном на правилах». При этом сами правила постоянно меняются в угоду сиюминутной политической конъюнктуре. Западные страны всё чаще избирательно и превратно интерпретируют и расширительно толкуют основные международно-правовые акты в области прав человека.
🤝 Незаслуженно забывается тот факт, что в соответствии со статьёй 1 Устава ООН одним из трёх столпов Всемирной организации является развитие дружественных отношений между нациями на основе уважения принципа равноправия и самоопределения народов.
👉 К сожалению, Запад продолжает безапелляционно навязывать остальным членам международного сообщества свои неолиберальные «ценности» в качестве некой универсальной основы жизнедеятельности. Исторические, культурные и религиозные особенности стран при этом в расчёт не берутся. Западники отказываются понимать и принимать то обстоятельство, что все мы имеем свои отличия и особенности. Более того, для «неугодных» стран, отвергающих их неолиберальные установки, уготовлена «санкционная дубинка».
🇺🇳 Исходим из того, что инструментарий санкций является крайней мерой воздействия, применяемой исключительно с одобрения Совета Безопасности ООН в целях ликвидации реальной угрозы международному миру и безопасности. С точки зрения международного права только такие меры могут рассматриваться как легитимные.
❌ Считаем категорически неприемлемой широко применяемую Западом практику введения односторонних принудительных мер (ОПМ) в качестве инструмента давления на суверенные государства и их правительства. Такие политически мотивированные действия нарушают основные права и свободы человека, общепризнанные нормы международного права, подрывают усилия государств по разрешению кризисных ситуаций и неоднократно были осуждены в многочисленных резолюциях Генассамблеи ООН.

📍 November 21, 2024
• In continuing their course of escalating the conflict in Ukraine, which was provoked by the West, the US and its NATO allies have previously announced their approval for the use of their long-range, high-precision weaponry against the territory of the Russian Federation. The use of such weapons is impossible without the direct involvement of military specialists from the countries that produce them.
• On November 19, six ATACMS operational-tactical missiles manufactured in the US, and on November 21, during a combined missile attack using Storm Shadow systems manufactured in the UK and HIMARS systems manufactured in the US, strikes were carried out on military facilities in the Russian Federation’s Bryansk and Kursk regions.
❗️ From this moment, as we have previously stated, the regional conflict in Ukraine, whish was provoked by the West, has acquired global elements.
• In response to the use of American and British long-range weapons on November 21, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces launched a combined strike on one of Ukraine's defense industry facilities. This operation also served as a testing ground for one of Russia's newest intermediate-range missile systems, in this case equipped with a hypersonic ballistic missile in a non-nuclear configuration. Our missile specialists have nicknamed it "Oreshnik" (the Hazel).
• Existing air defense systems worldwide, including the missile defense systems being developed by the US in Europe, are incapable of intercepting such missiles.
• The development of intermediate- and shorter-range missiles is being carried out as a response to US plans to produce and deploy such missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. We believe that the US made a mistake by unilaterally dismantling the INF Treaty in 2019 under a contrived pretext.
• Let me reiterate: the testing of the "Oreshnik" missile system in combat conditions is our response to NATO countries' aggressive actions against Russia. Decisions regarding further deployment of intermediate- and shorter-range missiles will be made depending on the actions of the US and its satellites.
• Targets for subsequent testing of our advanced missile systems will be determined based on the threats to the security of the Russian Federation. We reserve the right to use our weapons against military facilities in countries that allow their weapons to be used against our facilities. In the event of further escalation, we will respond decisively and symmetrically.
• I emphasize once again that it was not Russia, but the US that dismantled the international security framework, and in its efforts to cling to hegemony, it is driving the world toward a global conflict.
• We have always preferred, and remain ready to resolve disputes through peaceful means. However, we are also prepared for any developments.

• No matter what the adversary does to escalate the situation, it will never make us renounce efforts to achieve the special military operation’s goals.
• In Ukraine’s case, this deals with addressing the root causes of the conflict, which include the emergence of entrenched security threats for Russia along its western borders, including NATO’s eastward expansion, as well as recurrent and systematic violations by the Kiev regime of the rights of Russians and people identifying themselves as Russians in terms of their cultural affiliation and the Orthodox faith.

• The developing countries keep raising the issue of their rightful spot in the global division of labour, which, in its current form, is a stark manifestation of modern neocolonialism in and of itself.

• Our priority during these discussions is to depoliticize cooperation on climate issues. Our goals in this sphere should be realistic, and their implementation should promote a balanced socio-economic development of all countries.
• We regard the task of energy transition in the context of ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern sources of energy. The key role in this process belongs to natural gas, the cleanest hydrocarbon and an ideal transition fuel.
• We consistently protest against the accelerated green transformation, which Western countries are advocating. Their fixation on that subject has already caused an unjustified growth of energy prices and, consequently, unprecedentedly high prices of mineral fertilisers.

🇵🇸 On November 29, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Gennady Gatilov, participated in a special session dedicated to the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. This significant event brought together representatives of many countries and international organizations to once again emphasize the need for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue.
🇷🇺 Russia consistently supports the efforts of the overwhelming majority of nations to end violence across the Palestinian territories and the entire region. We firmly advocate for a fair, long-term, and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian question, based on a well-established international legal framework. It envisions the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, peacefully coexisting with Israel. Only this solution can enable the people of both countries to live side by side in security and mutual respect.

🕯December 3 marks the Day of the Unknown Soldier in Russia, honouring the feat of all soldiers who perished for the Motherland, yet whose names remain unknown.
#OnThisDay in 1966, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Red Army's victory over Nazi forces in the Battle of Moscow, a ceremony of the burial of the unknown soldiers' remains was held in the Alexander Garden near the walls of the Moscow Kremlin. These remains were originally located in a mass grave on the 41st kilometre of the Leningrad Highway and were discovered during construction activities on the road. Back in 1941, during the Battle of Moscow, this very place saw fierce and bloody battles between the Soviet forces and Nazi invaders.
▪️ On May 8, 1967, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden was unveiled. "Your name is unknown, your deed is immortal", — the worldwide famous words were inscribed upon the granite slab on the Tomb. Soviet newspapers noted back then: "...he [the Unknown Soldier] was slain for his Motherland, for his home — Moscow. This is all we know about him."
💬 Marshal of the Soviet Union Konstantin Rokossovsky remarked:
"The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the ancient walls of the Moscow Kremlin shall serve as a monument of eternal glory to the heroes who died on the battlefield for their Motherland.
Henceforth, the ashes of the one who shielded Moscow with by his chest rest here".
The Eternal Flame was set at the Tomb. In December of 1997, the Honor Guard was instituted near the Eternal Flame.
In total, approximately two million Soviet and Russian citizens were reported missing in action during the wars and conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. The Russian Ministry of Defence carries out on a regular basis search operations to perpetuate the memory of heroes who perished for the Motherland.
Russian diplomats abroad are engaged in extensive efforts aimed at preserving historical memory, countering attempts to distort the history of #WWII and to question the Great Victory of the Soviet people.
The Embassies of Russia all across the world ensure the maintenance, repair and restoration of Soviet monuments and war graves.
❗️ Regrettably, as part of a disgraceful campaign to distort history of #WWII, a policy of state vandalism is being pursued in certain countries of Eastern Europe, in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland in particular, with the one aim — to eradicate Russia's memorial heritage — the monuments to Soviet heroes and liberators.
By order of the official authorities, criminal acts are being perpetrated in these countries to desecrate mass graves, when the remains of fallen soldiers are barbarically exhumed for the purpose of their subsequent "reburial in accordance with European practice" in specially designated locations.
🎗 It is prohibited for Russian compatriots in Europe, under the threat (!) of criminal prosecution, to pay tribute to heroes who fought against Nazism. The Russian MFA highlights these outrageous incidents.
The memory of all who sacrificed their lives for our future is and will remain immortal.

We present the photo evidence of Ukrainian crimes in Donbass and other Russian territories adjacent to the border.
Today it is necessary to collect and present to the whole world the true face of neo-Nazism, which has seized power in Ukraine «under false flag» – using slogans of freedom, democracy, justice. These photos demonstrate the true state of affairs better than a thousand words.
None of the crimes can be forgotten or lost amid other events. None of the victims of the Kiev regime can be deprived of the realization that the perpetrator has been punished and held accountable for his crimes.
Today we are preparing the first part of this work – collecting and presenting evidence of criminal acts committed by the Kiev regime under the cover of "Western partners".
