🗓 15 сентября Посол России Андрей Келин был приглашён в Форин Офис, где ему был заявлен формальный протест в связи с появлением беспилотников в воздушном пространстве Польши.

Поинтересовались у британцев наличием каких-либо доказательств того, что беспилотники запущены российскими военными. Их не оказалось. Попросили также уточнить, как в Форин Офисе представляют себе мотивы или причины направления беспилотников в сторону Польши. Очевидно, что Россия в этом не могла быть заинтересована. Напротив, у киевского руководства есть целый набор причин и возможностей, чтобы выполнить такую операцию «под чужим флагом». Несложно их перечислить. Контраргументов нам представлено не было.

Указали британцам, что в ходе недавних авиаударов по объектам военно-промышленного комплекса Украины никаких целей на территории Польши не планировалось. Подробные разъяснения были даны российскими представителями в различных столицах стран НАТО и ЕС, а также в Нью-Йорке в ходе заседания СБ ООН.

По-прежнему готовы к обсуждению этого вопроса с коллегами из Польши и других заинтересованных стран с целью прояснения обстоятельств произошедшего и предотвращения эскалации.

☝️ Ещё раз подтверждаем отсутствие с российской стороны какой-либо заинтересованности в эскалации напряжённости в отношениях с Польшей или НАТО.

Напротив, в дальнейшем раздувании милитаристской антироссийской истерии заинтересован Киев и его спонсоры, которые не раз уже осуществляли провокации с этой целью. Так что, сторона, у которой рыльце в пуху, очевидна.

🗓 On 15 September Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin was invited to the Foreign Office, where he received a formal protest regarding the appearance of drones in Polish airspace.

We inquired whether the British side possessed any evidence that the drones had been launched by Russian forces. They had none. We also requested that the Foreign Office clarify its view of the motives or reasons for dispatching drones in the direction of Poland. Obviously, Russia could have no interest in taking such actions. By contrast, the Ukrainian leadership has a wide range of reasons and opportunities to carry out such an operation under a "false flag". It is not difficult to list them. No counter-arguments were offered in response.

The British side was reminded that there had been no plans to target any facilities on Polish territory during the recent air strikes against the installations of Ukraine's military-industrial complex. Russian representatives have already provided detailed explanations in NATO and EU capitals, as well as in New York during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

The Russian side remains ready to discuss this matter with colleagues from Poland and other concerned nations in order to clarify the circumstances and prevent further escalation.

☝️ We reiterate that Russia has no interest in heightening tensions with Poland or NATO.

On the contrary, it is Kiev and its sponsors that have every reason to fuel militaristic anti-Russian hysteria and who have repeatedly engaged in provocations for that purpose. It is, therefore, plain to see who is to blame.

🇷🇺 Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant:

❗️ The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are shelling the fuel depots of Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).
 
The artillery attack has ignited the dry vegetation on the adjoining territory. The distance between the outbreak of fire and diesel fuel tanks is about 400 metres. As of now, the main infrastructure facilities are not threatened.
 
It is important to note that the level of radiation background at the plant and on the adjoining territory is within the norm.
 
The situation is currently under control, with work in progress to eliminate the flare-up. There are no victims among the plant staff. Relevant services are working on the site.
 
It is worth noting that the plant’s auxiliary facilities, including the fuel depots, are structurally less protected by comparison with reactor shells.
 
❌ These attacks go beyond all imaginable security design bases.
 
A fire in the vicinity of depots storing fuel needed for the plant’s operation can potentially lead to disastrous consequences. At the same time, we must stress that the fire has been contained and the situation is fully controlled by the plant personnel and emergency services.

• We stand for a diplomatic solution [of the Ukraine crisis]. But we see that European countries, including the UK, still want to reinforce Ukraine. They are saying that they want to turn Ukraine into a "steel porcupine", which continues to threaten Russia.

• Prime Minister Starmer, President von der Leyen and President Macron should focus their efforts on finding an appropriate diplomatic and political solution, rather than on reinforcing Ukraine.

• [As for the Ukraine conflict] it should not be a temporary solution. It should be a robust, long-term and resilient agreement that provides security guarantees for Ukraine, Russia and neighbouring countries, as well as for the whole of Europe. It should be resolved once and for all.

• We do not deny that [a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky] can happen, but it should be carefully prepared in line with established diplomatic practice.

• NATO forces cannot play any peacekeeping role [in Ukraine]. We will not accept any presence of NATO contingents on the Ukrainian territory.

• We have no intention to target Poland and we have no motives to do that at all [...] If Poland or the UK is prepared for a professional conversation [on the drone incident], we are eager to do this. But unfortunately they do not want it.

• In terms of politics, the economy, and trade, we do not have a relationship [with the UK]. We have contacts. This is not due to us; it is down to the British authorities.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at the Ambassadorial Round Table Discussion 'Ukraine Crisis: Compliance with the UN Charter Goals and Principles' (Moscow, September 17, 2025)

💬 This is the ninth round table discussion held in this format.

We appreciate the interest of the #GlobalMajority, which you represent, in the efforts that are being taken in connection with the Ukraine crisis. We try to inform our friends about our stance, actions and plans as openly and explicitly as possible.

Today, I would like to speak about the situation, its history and current developments from the perspective of the #UNCharter, which all countries represented here have ratified and which formalised the universal principles of regulating interstate communication.

These principles include the sovereign equality of states, the non-use of force or threat of force, and respect for human rights regardless of race, sex, language or religion. All UN member states have subscribed to them.

❗️ However, our Western “colleagues” <...> disregard the principles of the UN Charter.

In particular, the West never had any regard for the sovereign equality of states. Cast your mind back to the international crises that took place in the period after the creation of the UN. The West did not show respect for the principle of sovereign equality of state in any of these crises, regarding itself superior to others.

Even when the Werst cites some principles to justify its actions, it does so selectively, choosing principles that suit it in the given instance, and depending on its actions. In the case of Kosovo, they said that they were acting in accordance with the principle of self-determination of nations, on the basis of which they proclaimed its independence without holding a referendum.

In other cases, for example, #Crimea, where over 95 percent of the people openly and transparently voted for reuniting with Russia, the West stated that the principle of self-determination was not applicable and demanded respect for the principle of territorial integrity.

☝️ We are fully aware of these double standards.

The residents of Crimea (in March 2014) and the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions (in September 2022) exercised their right to self-determination, enshrined in Article 1 of the UN Charter, through referenda.

We, the Russian Federation, recognised them and, in the face of the continuing aggression from the Nazi Kiev regime, supported by the West, offered them protection in full compliance with Article 51 of the UN Charter that grants countries the right to individual or collective self-defence.

The Kiev regime’s violations of international humanitarian law are so obvious that they simply cannot be denied. There are more than enough facts. But the [UN] Secretariat is taking an opposite stance and attempting to whitewash the acts committed by the Kiev regime <...>.

Europe is clearly — and rather unceremoniously — trying to get a place of its own at the negotiating table. Truth be told, its position of revanchism and inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia makes it unfit to have a seat at the negotiating table.

Europe is talking about sending its contingents to Ukraine. We have already made it clear that they would be considered a legitimate military target. Europe is trying to promote security guarantees for Ukraine, which are being drafted without our participation and openly seek to create military threats to the Russian Federation.

The security guarantees must fully comply with the West’s obligations, enshrined in the UN Charter and in the OSCE consensus documents adopted in Istanbul in 1999 and Astana in 2010. These security guarantees, as was agreed then, must rely on the principle of indivisible security and the principle under which no country has the right to strengthen its own security at the expense of others.

❗️ This is precisely what the West is currently trying to accomplish in Ukraine in its attempts to save it from total collapse.

💬 Британцы пытаются протянуть некую эскалационную цепочку, в которую включают наши удары по военным объектам в Киеве — один из них был неподалеку от Британского совета и миссии Евросоюза, — правительственному зданию и полёты БПЛА в направлении Польши и Румынии, пытаясь навязать [тезис о том], что вот Россия виновата в эскалации и усилении конфронтации.

По последнему сюжету, задал вопрос [британской стороне], есть ли какие-либо конкретные подтверждения того, что эти БПЛА были запущены российскими военными в сторону Польши. Ответа я не получил, из чего следует, что таких доказательств нет. Просил также объяснить, как британская сторона видит нашу возможную мотивацию касательно того, что мы направляли БПЛА [в сторону Польши и Румынии]. Очевидно, что у России нет никаких причин [делать это], нет целей в Польше и нет желания вести конфронтацию с НАТО.

С другой стороны, у Киева такой мотивации много. <...> Это стремление вновь сфокусировать [внимание западников] на конфликте, выбить дополнительные средства ПВО, втянуть Польшу в конфронтацию с Россией и тем самым выправить отношения между Киевом и Варшавой, которые в последнее время значительно ухудшились. У Киева набирается целая масса аргументов для того, чтобы совершить такую провокацию.

Russia's Ministry of Defence:

⚡️ On 19 September, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets made a scheduled flight from Karelia to an airfield in the Kaliningrad region.

The flight was conducted in strict accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace, without violating the borders of foreign states. It was confirmed by objective control footage.

The Russian aircraft did not deviate from the agreed route and did not violate Estonian airspace. The aircraft flight flew over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, more than three kilometres away from the island of Vaindloo.

☝️ Since 2020, Moldova has been governed by so-called pro-European forces whose policies have triggered severe economic difficulties. Public discontent with the current course has become increasingly visible, notably at the 2024 presidential elections and the EU accession referendum.

Rather than acknowledging failures and heeding people's voice, the Moldovan authorities — emboldened by their Western sponsors — have chosen to divert attention by invoking a supposed "Russian threat", attributing internal woes to foreign interference.

Western mainstream media have proven eager partners in amplifying this narrative. Most recently, the BBC has released an investigation concerning alleged Russian "malign" activities in Moldova. Its authors contacted the Embassy and we took the effort to prepare detailed, fact-based answers to their allegations. Yet, the final documentary did not feature any of those.

With a view to giving the audience a broader picture of the situation ahead of the elections in Moldova we summarised our arguments below.

👉 The European Union, not Russia, is funding Moldovan citizens and others on a large scale to spread fake news ahead of the elections.

👉 The EU is interested in ensuring the victory of the current "ruling party" in Moldova at any cost. 280 polling stations will be opened for Moldovans in North America and Western Europe. There will be only two for the thousands-strong diaspora in Russia.

👉 Every Moldovan ministry and agency employs Western advisers, as well as Moldovans who have worked for Western NGOs.

👉 Since the start of this year, European politicians and officials have made over 50 visits to Chisinau, openly campaigning for Moldova’s "European choice".

👉 Western nations have imposed sanctions on opposition figures.

👉 NATO and the EU are turning Moldova into a logistical hub for supplying Ukraine’s armed forces.

👉 Since 2022, Moldova has suspended broadcasting of 18 Russian-language television channels and over 60 internet resources.

☝️ С 2020 года у власти в Республике Молдова находятся т.н. проевропейские силы, политика которых привела к серьёзным экономическим проблемам. Недовольство общества курсом властей становится всё более очевидным.

Вместо того чтобы признать собственные ошибки и прислушаться к общественному мнению, руководители в Кишиневе, воодушевлённые поддержкой западных покровителей, решили отвлечь внимание граждан риторикой о мнимой «российской угрозе». При этом внутренние проблемы они объясняют вмешательством извне.

Ведущие западные СМИ охотно участвуют в продвижении этого нарратива. В частности, телекорпорация «Би-би-си» недавно опубликовала расследование о якобы «вредоносной» российской деятельности в Молдавии.

Его авторы обратились за комментарием в Посольство, и мы подготовили подробные, основанные на фактах ответы на выдвинутые обвинения. Однако в итоговом материале эти тезисы не были отражены.

В целях донесения до аудитории более полной картины происходящего накануне выборов в Молдавии публикуем основные элементы нашей аргументации.

👉 Евросоюз заинтересован любой ценой обеспечить победу нынешней «партии власти» в Молдавии. Показательно, что в странах Северной Америки и Западной Европы для молдаван будут открыты 280 избирательных участков. Для сравнения: для многотысячной диаспоры в России – только 2, а для Приднестровья – всего 12.

👉 В каждом молдавском министерстве и ведомстве работают западные советники и молдаване-выходцы из западных НПО. Европолитики и чиновники совершают массовые визиты в Кишинев (свыше 50 с начала текущего года), открыто агитируя за «европейский выбор» Молдавии. В отношении оппозиционеров страны Запада вводят санкции.

👉 НАТО и Евросоюз превращают Молдавию в логистический и тыловой хаб для снабжения ВСУ. За последние четыре года в молдавский оборонный сектор направлено порядка 3,4 млрд евро западной помощи.

👉 С 2022 г. в Молдавии приостановлено вещание 18 русскоязычных телеканалов и свыше 60 интернет-ресурсов, ограничен доступ к каналам оппозиционных политиков в социальных сетях и на Интернет-платформах. Прозападные СМИ работают в Молдавии без ограничений.

🎙 Excerpt from President Vladimir Putin's remarks at a meeting with permanent members of Russia's Security Council (22 September)

💬 As a result of the destructive actions previously taken by Western countries, the foundations of constructive relations and practical cooperation between nuclear powers have been significantly undermined. The basis for dialogue within relevant bilateral and multilateral frameworks has been eroded.

Gradually, the system of Soviet-American and Russian-American agreements on nuclear missile and strategic defence arms control – long relied upon to stabilise relations between the two largest nuclear powers and to enhance global security – has been nearly dismantled. <...>

The last major political and diplomatic achievement in the field of strategic stability was the conclusion of the Russian-American New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) in 2010. <...> For nearly 15 years, this agreement has played a constructive role in maintaining balance and predictability in the sphere of strategic offensive weapons.

The New START Treaty will expire on February 5, 2026, signalling the imminent end of the last international accord directly limiting nuclear missile capabilities. A complete renunciation of this treaty's legacy would, from many points, be a grave and short-sighted mistake. It would also have adverse implications for the objectives of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

☝️ In order to prevent the emergence of a new strategic arms race and to preserve an acceptable degree of predictability and restraint, we consider it reasonable to maintain at this turbulent time the status quo established under New START. Accordingly, Russia is prepared to continue observing the treaty’s central quantitative restrictions for one year after February 5, 2026.

Following that date, based on a careful assessment of the situation, we will make a definite decision on whether to uphold these voluntary self-limitations. We believe that this measure is only feasible if the US acts in a similar spirit and refrains from steps that would undermine or disrupt the existing balance of deterrence.

❌ Уже давно на Западе в качестве средства спонсирования войны на Украине против России рассматриваются различные варианты кражи российских госрезервов. Сперва они были противоправно заморожены, затем последовали махинации с использованием доходов от суверенных активов.

Несмотря на предостережения экспертов против незаконной экспроприации в какой-бы то ни было форме принадлежащих России денежных средств, в последнее время ряд европейских лидеров при поддержке Лондона попытался предложить подменить их некими сомнительными «долговыми обязательствами с нулевой доходностью» (долговые расписки, IOUs).

Подчёркиваем: подвести под такие действия псевдоюридическую основу совершенно невозможно. Никакие операции с активами России без согласия собственника осуществляться не могут.

Предложения пустить эти средства на военные нужды преступного киевского режима, набивая карманы военных промышленников, лишь способствуют продолжению кровопролития. Такой подход не просто циничен – он является прямым свидетельством соучастия в преступлениях, совершаемых руками украинских боевиков.

• Europe is flooding Ukraine with weapons. This does not bring the settlement any closer. It is only delaying it.

• President Trump's stance towards Russia is not confrontational. [...] The leaders of the UK, France and Germany are talking differently. They start a confrontation when they see any disagreement [with their policies].

• [Europeans] do not want to engage [in a dialogue with Russia]. They stopped talking to us — especially the UK — many years ago. They only listen to and talk to each other. They are simply ignoring other points of view. That is a problem.

• The Ukrainian authorities should be realistic, because their military and political situation is worsening every day. They were in a much better position a year ago in both of these aspects.

• We cannot allow Ukraine's membership in NATO. [...] One can be sovereign and reasonable at the same time, avoiding doing silly things that will make your neighbours hostile.

• What is going on in Gaza is terrible and absolutely unacceptable. While we understand that Israel has the right to self-defence, one should not punish all Palestinian people for what has happened.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry statement on retaliatory personal sanctions against representatives of the UK political establishment and expert community (26 September 2025)

💬 London is clinging to the belief that it can inflict a strategic damage on Russia with the help of the Kiev regime it controls.

Hoping to extend the life span of the Ukraine project, which is suffering one defeat after another, they have resorted to the tried and tested mind control methods in the past few days, namely launched another round of anti-Russia spy paranoia, spreading myths of the alleged military threat to Europe, and ostentatiously announced the adoption of new economic sanctions, regardless of the fact that these sanctions will hit the British economy the hardest.

👉 London continues to finance cynical anti-Russia campaigns even though this is accelerating the decline of its socioeconomic and, consequently, internal political situation. The British government’s efforts to honour its basic social commitments look more and more like trying to rob the Peter to pay Paul – both when it comes to curbing illegal migration and street crime, or encouraging economic growth.

In response to London’s continued confrontational course, a decision has been made to add a number of British representatives from the UK political establishment and expert community to Russia’s “stop list.”

This list includes individuals advocating for illegal unilateral sanctions and engaged in London’s subversive activities towards Russia, including the fabrication of anti-Russia materials and the spreading of disinformation about our country.

❌ The following is a list of British nationals, as well as third-country nationals collaborating with destructive British analytical and consulting agencies, who are now barred from entering the Russian Federation:

1. James Byrne, Co-founder and CEO, British research institute Open Source Centre;
2. Anna Deibel-Jung, Deputy Director, Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI) within the Department for Business and Trade;
3. David Michael Doogan, Member of the House of Commons from the Scottish National Party.
4. Max Petrokofsky, Head, Sectoral Sanctions (Trade), the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office;
5. Kinga Redlowska, Head, Centre for Finance and Security (CFS Europe); member of the Maritime Sanctions Taskforce, Royal United Services Institute;
6. Emma Elizabeth Reynolds, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, member of the House of Commons from the Labour Party;
7. Gonsalo Saiz Erasquin, Research Fellow, Centre for Finance and Security; member of the Maritime Sanctions Taskforce, Royal United Services Institute.

We would like to point out again that Britain’s efforts to discredit and isolate Russia, including in the context of the special military operation, will inevitably meet with a firm and strong response.

The Russian “stop list” will be subject to further expansion owing to Britain’s persistent destructive policy aimed at escalating tensions in Europe and the rest of the world.

❌ For a long time, the West has been considering various ways to steal Russian state reserves in order to finance the war in Ukraine against Russia. Initially, these reserves were illegally frozen. This was followed by the manipulation of revenues from sovereign assets.

Despite warnings from experts against the unlawful expropriation of the Russian funds in any form, several European leaders, supported by London, have recently attempted to replace these assets with dubious "zero-yield bonds" (IOUs).

We emphasise that it is absolutely impossible to provide any pseudo-legal basis for such actions. No transactions involving Russian assets can be carried out without the owner's consent.

Proposals to use the funds for the military needs of the criminal Kiev regime, while lining the pockets of military industrialists, only contribute to prolonging the bloodshed. Such approach is not only cynical – it constitutes direct evidence of complicity in the crimes committed by Ukrainian militants.

☝️ We are closely monitoring the development of these illicit plans. In full accordance with the principle of reciprocity in international relations, Russia reserves the right to take retaliatory measures.

• 80 years ago the most terrible war in human history came to an end. More than 70 million people fell victim to hostilities, hunger and disease. In 1945 the course of world history changed forever. We hold sacred the memory of brotherhood-in-arms with all Allies who then stood on the side of truth in the struggle against the forces of evil.

• #UNCharterIsOurRules The principles and the Charter agreed upon by the founding fathers of our Organization still serve as a bright beacon for international cooperation.

• We advocate for the unconditional observance of the principle of equality. In it lies the guarantee that all countries can take their rightful place in world affairs, regardless of their military power, population size, territory or economy.

• Russia strongly condemned the Hamas militants’ attack on peaceful Israelis on October 7, 2023. However, there is no justification for the brutal killing of Palestinian civilians, just as there is no justification for terrorism.

• The Arabic language is not banned in Israel, nor is Hebrew in Arab countries or Iran – but the Russian language is banned in Ukraine. Let me recall that Article 1 of the Charter speaks of the need to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms for all, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion. Europe remains silent, obsessed with the utopian goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia.

• The rights of Russians and Russian-speaking people in the territories still under the control of the Kiev regime must be fully restored. On this basis we are ready to discuss the security guarantees for Ukraine.

• Russia and the US bear a special responsibility for world affairs, for avoiding risks that could plunge humanity into a new war.

• The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (#SCO) and #BRICS play a special role as mechanisms for coordination of countries of the Global South and East.

• NATO is already cramped in Europe, and it is expanding into the Pacific Ocean, the South China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, undermining the universal ASEAN mechanisms and creating threats not only to China and Russia but also to other countries in the region.

• Speaking of the future, we must not forget the lessons of the past – especially when Nazism is once again raising its head in Europe, militarization is gaining momentum under the same anti-Russian slogans. This causes particular concern given that a number of political figures, now in power in Brussels and certain EU and NATO capitals, seriously discuss World War III as a possible scenario.

• We call on member states and the Secretariat’s leadership to scrupulously follow all the Charter’s principles – without exception and without double standards. Then the legacy of the UN’s founding fathers will not be wasted.
