🇷🇺🇮🇳 On December 6, a multimedia exhibition by People's Artist of Russia and Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Nikas Safronov opened in New Delhi. Nearly 100 paintings of the artist were presented to the public.

The opening ceremony was graced with the presence of Indian Minister of Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of the Moscow Government Sergey Cheremin and Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov.

☝🏻 Denis Alipov emphasized that the exhibition by Nikas Safronov is a vivid testament to the strength of Russian-Indian cultural relations, as well as noted that the peoples of the two countries are bound by decades of mutual respect, creative exchange, and sincere understanding of each other's heritage.

🖼 The exhibition format is an interactive "Dream Vision" exposition, prepared using modern multimedia solutions that complement the paintings. Nikas Safronov created the central part of the composition specifically for India, drawing inspiration from its epics, history, culture, and painting. The artist used multimedia projections, LED and volumetric screens, neuro-mirrors, animated paintings, and spot lighting.

The event was organized with the support of PJSC Rosneft Oil Company.

❗️ In New Delhi, the exhibition will run until December 21 at the Lalit Kala Akademi, and from December 25 to January 15 it can be seen in Mumbai at the National Gallery of Modern Art.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took part in the plenary session of the Russia-India Business Forum co-organised by the Roscongress Foundation and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) (New Delhi, December 5, 2025)

💬 Vladimir Putin: Mr Prime Minister, friends,

I am delighted to welcome the participants of the Russia-India Business Forum plenary session.

These days, New Delhi is hosting representatives from our economic ministries and departments, the heads of our largest companies, banks and regions, as well as members of parliament — that is, all those who are engaged in practical efforts to promote multifaceted Russian-Indian cooperation in imports and exports, finance and investments.

As I understand it, you have discussed a broad range of specific issues related to economic interaction between Russia and India during your numerous panel sessions and expert discussions. But the main achievement is that new business contacts have been established at the forum, talks have begun on future commercial deals, and forward-looking mutually beneficial projects have been launched. <...>

Mr Prime Minister has pointed out many times during our private conversations that India has vast and growing opportunities in many spheres, but they are not being used as both sides would like them to be used. In fact, this is what this forum is about.

To tell the truth, this forum is devoted to the possibilities of the Indian economy and aims to inform our economic operators about these opportunities, so that we can open up our markets to mutual satisfaction and mutual development. All this has fundamental significance because strong and diversified ties between Russian and Indian businesses are among the most powerful pillars of the privileged strategic partnership between our countries.

🤝 Russia and India are indeed long-time, close trading partners. Trade continues to grow steadily, with the dynamics hitting record highs of up to 80% over the past three years. Last year, the volume of Russian-Indian trade reached US$64 billion. <...>

To reiterate, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is pursuing an entirely independent sovereign policy and is achieving very good results in the economy. The Indian economy is one of the world’s fastest growing economies.

<...> Russian businesses and companies are willing to multiply imports of Indian goods and services. Friends, we welcome this, as it helps make our economy more resilient.

Your forum clearly showed that Indian entrepreneurs are genuinely interested in trading with Russia as well. They have much to offer. The synergy is obvious. Therefore, it makes good economic sense to prioritise projects to increase Indian imports to Russia as part of the new export support programme recently adopted by Mr Modi’s government. <...>

A positive effect in this regard would likely stem from the prompt conclusion of a preferential trade agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union. Free trade cannot exist without a stable system of bilateral settlements and reliable payment and insurance mechanisms. <...>

We are ready for broad partnership with India in the field of #AI, where both our countries have their own advanced achievements. Russia is interested in taking part in the AI summit planned for February 2026 in India, as I have just mentioned to the Prime Minister. We will send a representative delegation to this event.

In conclusion, I would like to once again emphasise the continued strengthening of Russian-Indian trade and investment ties and the close cooperation between our business communities.

All of this truly contributes to economic growth and development, improving the wellbeing of our citizens, and therefore fully corresponds to the fundamental interests of our countries and our peoples.

I wish the forum participants and organisers every success and all the best.

⚡️MGIMO Values on the Lips of World Leaders

🇷🇺🇮🇳 On December 4-5, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to India. The Russian leader was warmly received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit resulted in the signing of 29 documents across a wide range of areas, from economic to information and educational spheres.

During the negotiations, Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of the especially privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India, not only for the two countries but for the entire world.

"The Leaders emphasized the special nature of this long standing and time-tested relationship, which is characterised by mutual trust, respect for each other’s core national interests and strategic convergence. They underscored that, as major powers with shared responsibilities, this important relationship continues to be an anchor of global peace and stability that should be ensured upon the basis of equal and indivisible security," states the Joint Statement following the summit.

🚀According to V. Putin and N. Modi, the partnership between Moscow and New Delhi is based on mutual interest in each other's history and culture, and an understanding of each other's national interests. In other words, on strategic empathy — one of the key qualities required for international affairs specialists in the new polycentric reality.

Our peoples have for centuries shown a sincere interest in each other's traditions, history, and spiritual values
. Educational and scientific contacts, exchanges involving youth and public circles are actively developing,“ stated Russian President
Vladimir Putin
.

For decades, the people of both countries have shared deep affection, respect, and warmth for one another
. We have taken several new steps to further strengthen these bonds. We will work together on vocational education, skilling, and training. We will also enhance exchanges between our students and scholars,” agreed Indian Prime Minister
Narendra Modi
.

👉Strategic empathy is acquired through the process of fundamental regional and country studies training, which is one of the cornerstones of MGIMO's educational tradition.

The training of Indology specialists has been conducted at MGIMO since 1954. It’s since that time that
Hindi
has been taught at the Department of Indo-Iranian and African Languages.
Over 700 students
have studied Hindi at MGIMO as their first language in the following decades. Today,
73 students
from the Schools of International Relations, International Journalism, International Economic Relations, as well as Government and Politics are studying Hindi at MGIMO. Along with the language, students study in detail the history, culture, political and economic systems of India.

📚The school of Indology training is not the only thing that connects our university with this unique country.
Today,
12 students
from India study at MGIMO.
The MGIMO
Indian Student Club
actively participates in the university's student life.
Since 2023, school students from India have been participating in the
MGIMO International School Olympiad.

Partnership agreements have been signed with
9 Indian universities
.

Former Prime Minister of India (2004-2014) Dr. Manmohan Singh is an Honorary Doctor of MGIMO.

❗️There’s a double-degree master's program between the School of International Business, Graphic Era University and Amity University, combining the expertise of two leading world centers of influence in business education. The program is implemented with the support of Russian Railways.
