His most renown agnomens (Kuniyyah) are Abu al-Hasan and Abu Muḥammad; while his titles are Zayn al-Abidin (Embellishment of the worshippers), Sayyidul Säjidīn (Master of the prostrators), Sayyidul `Abidin (Master of the worshippers), al-Zaki (the virtuous), al-Amin (the Trusty), al-Sajjad (the one who prostrates abundantly) and Dul Thafināt (the possessor of calluses).
📚Ibn Shihab al-Zuhrī has reported that, "Imām 'Alī b al-Husayn (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام), who was the best Hashimi we ever met, said: "Love us, for it is love for Islam. May your love for us never cease even if it becomes a public disgrace.""
Abd al-'Aziz Abu Hazim has also
said, I heard my father say: "I have never seen a Hashimi more meritorious (afdal) than 'Alī b al-Husayn.""
أخبرني أبو محمد الحسن بن محمد العلوي، عن جده، عن محمد بن ميمون البزاز قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة، عن ابن شهاب الزهري قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين عليه السلام - وكان أفضل هاشمي أدركناه - قال: أحبونا حب الاسلام، فما زال حبكم لنا حتى صار شينا علينا.
وروى أبو معمر، عن عبد العزيز بن أبي حازم قال: سمعت أبي يقول: ما رأيت هاشميا أفضل من علي بن الحسين عليه السلام.
