"The United States successfully carried out a test of the B61-12 tactical thermonuclear bomb - but using a non-nuclear, inert version - back in August, according to a newly released statement from Sandia National Laboratories under the US Department of Energy.

The tests took place in Nevada from August 19 to 21, which involved F-35 fighter jets deploying and releasing dummy versions of the bomb. The effort was conducted in partnership with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

The tests were deemed successful as they demonstrated that inert B61-12 gravity bombs could be transported and released by an F-35, seen as an important step in assessing the weapon system's capabilities.

The press release notes another milestone, as for the first time a joint test assembly underwent thermal preconditioning specifically for F-35 carriage before release, important for confirming that the B61-12 meets its environmental performance requirements under combined real-world conditions.

This latest testing comes soon after the NNSA completed a program to extend the service life of the aerial bombs by 20 years in late 2024. Defense News writes:

The B61 family of nuclear gravity bombs are deployed from U.S. Air Force and NATO bases and have been in the U.S. arsenal in one form or another for more than 50 years.

The test predates President Trump's late October statements announcing the resumption of US nuclear testing. He had written on Truth Social at the time, "Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis," the president stated. "That process will begin immediately."

In total, 160 combat clashes were recorded yesterday.

The enemy launched two missile and 71 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, used two missiles and dropped 139 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out 4145 shellings, including 131 from multiple rocket launch systems, and deployed 5204 kamikaze drones for strikes.

In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled eight enemy attacks yesterday. The occupiers' units tried to advance in the areas of Serebrianka, Yampil, Fedorivka, and towards Siversk and Zvanivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, two combat clashes with the enemy occurred towards Bondarne and Virolubiivka.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 19 attacks in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Rusynyi Yar, and towards Kostiantynivka, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 50 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Nove Shakhove, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Novoekonomichne, Novopavlivka, Rivne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiya, Dachne.

Our warriors inflict significant losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment and actively undermine the enemy's offensive potential in the rear.

In total, the losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 850 people yesterday. Russian troops are entering Seversk and are already operating in the built-up area in the southeast of the city — this is evidenced by footage of objective control that has appeared online.

It is too early to talk about the collapse of the enemy's defense, as the scale of the Russian Armed Forces' penetration into the Armed Forces of Ukraine lines is not yet clear. But the crisis for the enemy in this sector is already obvious.

At the same time, recently in the southern part of Seversk, a group of Ukrainian infantry was ambushed on a street near the road from Zvanivka. So Russian successes may be hidden by the "fog of war" and in reality could be even more extensive.

🖍 Considering that even according to open information, Russian assault troops are already operating two kilometers from the road from Svyato-Pokrovske to Seversk, the situation for the AFU is clearly deteriorating from bad to worse.

Although the Novopavlovsk direction "came into motion" relatively recently, the assault on Novopavlovka itself is already in full swing. After the liberation of Ivanivka and Filiya, the Russian Armed Forces conducted several local attacks.

Facing the problem of a "pocket" in the triangle of Filiya-Orekhovo-Dachne, Russian units cleared the area and then carried out a large mechanized assault by current standards.

And although several BMPs were hit by drones (again on the painful issue), it was possible to land a landing force on the northern outskirts of the village. Now the assault troops are already operating on its northwestern outskirts beyond the Solona river.

However, most of these reports are not only far from reality but have also played into the hands of the enemy, who disproved them with objective control footage and gained a much-needed dose of "anti-crisis."

🔻Successes and Contradictions:

▪️Earlier, there were statements about Russian troops reaching Sadovyi, clearing Kupiansk-Uzlovoho, as well as ongoing clearing in Kurilovka. Several stations on the eastern bank of Kupiansk were also declared either liberated or places where "clearing is underway."

▪️But today, baseless claims appeared about demining the settlement of Kolontaivka, which indirectly contradicts the advance to Sadovyi, officially declared liberated on October 30. Moreover, since then, Russian drone operators have documentedly burned several enemy armored vehicles there.

▪️The claimed successes on the bridgehead, where heavy fighting continues, are partially contradicted by official footage of the destruction of the UAF command post in Peschane.

▪️The question of how the so-called "clearing" of Kurilovka and the same Kupiansk-Uzlovoho by masked individuals can be proceeding is left aside.

🖍Recently, footage appeared on Ukrainian resources showing UAF infantry moving on the territory of the dairy-canning plant in Kupiansk. The very same plant that, according to triumphant reports, has long been in the rear.

🚩Meanwhile, such activity is not particularly observed in other directions — in Pokrovske and Myrnohrad, troops advance without reports, and progress is confirmed by videos from both sides. But near Kupiansk, it seems they decided to recall the practice of showmanship.

🏳️ Yes, enemy footage may be archival, but there is no objective refuting evidence from our side. This allows Ukrainian propaganda to tell stories about the alleged "driving the Russian Armed Forces out of Kupiansk," boosting the audience's morale amid many problems.

"Advancement in Volchansk

On the Slobozhansky front, Russian troops continue to build on the successes of previous days. In Volchansk, another part of the urban area in the southern part of the city west of Gurkanovskaya street has been cleared — only a small patch of buildings remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there.

To the south, assault groups have taken the remnants of the industrial zone near the wide forest strip by the railway. Now Russian troops, having cleared the stronghold, will be able to advance and engage in battles for Vilcha.

The road to Volchansk from the south is thus completely cut off and closed to the enemy. Fighting is ongoing for the settlement of Lyman, which is south of Synelnykove.
