"Expansion of the Bridgehead: situation in the Novopavlovsk direction

The front has started moving even in previously static directions. After the recent crossing of Volchya and breakthrough to Novopavlovka, the Russian Armed Forces are consolidating their positions on the achieved lines and advancing further northwest.

At the moment, forest belts and a large stronghold south of the city have come under confident control of Russian units. This has secured the pontoon crossing route near Dachnoye from possible enemy counterattacks.

In Novopavlovka itself, a large combat zone still remains. Russian Armed Forces units are operating along the entire southeastern outskirts of the settlement. They are currently trying to consolidate in the ruins of the private sector and are pulling logistics along the T-04-28 highway.

Since the beginning of this day, there have been 79 combat clashes.
Today, communities of border settlements suffered from enemy artillery fire, including Bobylivka, Brusky in the Sumy region; Khrinivka in the Chernihiv region.

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, since the beginning of the day, there have been two combat clashes with enemy forces. "The United States successfully carried out a test of the B61-12 tactical thermonuclear bomb - but using a non-nuclear, inert version - back in August, according to a newly released statement from Sandia National Laboratories under the US Department of Energy.

The tests took place in Nevada from August 19 to 21, which involved F-35 fighter jets deploying and releasing dummy versions of the bomb. The effort was conducted in partnership with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

The tests were deemed successful as they demonstrated that inert B61-12 gravity bombs could be transported and released by an F-35, seen as an important step in assessing the weapon system's capabilities.

The press release notes another milestone, as for the first time a joint test assembly underwent thermal preconditioning specifically for F-35 carriage before release, important for confirming that the B61-12 meets its environmental performance requirements under combined real-world conditions.

This latest testing comes soon after the NNSA completed a program to extend the service life of the aerial bombs by 20 years in late 2024. Defense News writes:

The B61 family of nuclear gravity bombs are deployed from U.S. Air Force and NATO bases and have been in the U.S. arsenal in one form or another for more than 50 years.

The test predates President Trump's late October statements announcing the resumption of US nuclear testing. He had written on Truth Social at the time, "Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis," the president stated. "That process will begin immediately."

⚡️ Five attacks repelled on armored vehicles of units of the 32nd mechanized brigade and the 425th assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the area of the settlement of Grishino, Donetsk People's Republic, aimed at breaking the encirclement of the Ukrainian group. Up to 45 militants and a "Kazak" armored vehicle were destroyed.

🪖 In the settlement of Dimitrov, DPR, assault units of the 51st Army continue active offensive actions in the Eastern, Western, and southern parts of the city. Three attempts by formations of the 79th Air Assault Brigade and the 38th Marine Brigade of the AFU to break out of the encirclement ring to the north were thwarted.

▪️ In the past day, up to 255 servicemen, three armored combat vehicles, two pickups, and an artillery gun were destroyed on the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

▪️ In total, in the area of responsibility of the "Center" group of troops, enemy losses amounted to more than 470 servicemen, one tank, six armored combat vehicles, and seven cars.

💥 Units of the "Dnepr" group of troops inflicted damage on personnel and equipment of a mechanized brigade of the AFU and a territorial defense brigade in the areas of the settlements Orekhov, Primorskoe, and Stepnogorsk in Zaporizhzhia region.

▪️ Up to 70 servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, 13 cars, a field artillery gun, eight radio-electronic warfare stations, and two material supply depots were destroyed.

💥 Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces groups destroyed two launchers of the US-made MLRS, inflicted damage on energy and railway infrastructure facilities of Ukraine used by the AFU, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 144 areas.

🎯 Air defense means shot down four ATACMS operational-tactical missiles, seven guided aerial bombs, and 93 airplane-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

💥 By the forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet in the northeastern part of the Black Sea, two unmanned boats of the AFU were destroyed.
