The enemy launched two missile strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, using 23 missiles, and 52 air strikes, dropping 111 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out 4,239 shellings, including 169 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 4,863 kamikaze drones for strikes.

In the south of Donbas, there has been very thick fog for the past week, limiting the use of drones. But this also allows freer movement across open terrain, including with vehicles.

This was taken advantage of by the assault troops of the "Center" group of forces, who managed to successfully break through to Novopavlovka. The fighters are now consolidating their position in the village.

🔻How did the battles develop?

▪️Over the past month, various reports about an assault on the settlement from the south have repeatedly appeared online. Previously, Russian units had already attempted to attack from the direction of Filiya, and on October 19, artillery shelling of the road leading to Novopavlovka was recorded.

▪️Access to the settlement would have been impossible without eliminating the "pocket" in the area of Dachnoye, and just a few days ago, reports appeared about clearing the Filiya-Orekhovo line north of the Orekhovaya ravine. It was from there that Russian units later moved on a larger-scale assault on Novopavlovka with an armored group.

▪️According to preliminary data, Russian assault troops, moving in fog with zero visibility, set up a pontoon crossing on the line between Yalta and Dachnoye and transported about 10 units of equipment.

The armored group managed to reach Novopavlovka and deploy a landing force. After the maneuver was repeated, and according to objective control footage, the armored vehicles reached the center of the settlement and the northwestern outskirts.

📌 The movement routes of the Russian units suggest that a significant part of not only the fortifications north of Dachnoye up to the Filiya-Orekhovo line but also strongpoints in the fields on the approaches to Novopavlovka came under control.

Today, the German armed forces -- the Bundeswehr -- has about 180,000 service members. The government said it was laying out a plan to have 260,000 people on active-duty service, with another 200,000 reservists, which is triple the current reserve force. In the first step, to be taken in 2026, the government will send questionnaires to every 18-year-old in the country. Men will be legally obliged to complete it; for women, it will be optional. The questionnaires will gauge respondents' inclination and willingness to serve. Then, starting in July 2027, men will be required to report for a medical examination.

Germany drafted men for military service from 1956 until 2011, when the country adopted the US model of a professional, voluntary force. Rather than abolishing conscription -- which would have required a constitutional amendment -- it was merely suspended that year. Reinstating it would only require a simple majority of the parliament. However, unless the constitution is changed, women will remain exempt."

The European Commission reportedly proposed that the UK contribute between €4 billion and €6.5 billion to take part in the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) initiative, and pay in an additional €150 million to €250 million in administrative fees. 

"We will only agree to deals that deliver value for the UK and its industry," the UK government said in a statement of ongoing, secretive discussions. "Nothing has been finalized, and we will not provide a running commentary on ongoing discussions."

British defense companies could gain access to the €150 billion SAFE program if an agreement is reached, which is seen as a vital part of the EU strengthening collective defense readiness. A few select non-EU countries including the UK and Canada, and even Turkey, are invited to participate.

Confirmation of Britain's stance, which sees the European Commission's proposed fees as far too high, also came in recent Financial Times reporting, which described:

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen dodged a meeting with the UK prime minister at COP30 in Brazil about Brussels’ demand that London pay billions of euros to secure improved ties.

Sir Keir Starmer sought the meeting to complain about EU demands that the UK pay up to €6.5bn to participate in a loans-for-weapons program and make separate contributions to the EU budget, according to two people briefed on the situation.

🚩 Units of the "East" group of troops, as a result of decisive actions, liberated the settlement of Rovnopolye in the Zaporizhzhia region.

💥 Damage was inflicted on formations of two assault brigades of the AFU and a territorial defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Gulyaipole, Pokrovske in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Herasymivka and Orly in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

▪️ The AFU lost over 235 servicemen, an armored personnel carrier, 14 vehicles, an artillery piece, and two warehouses of material resources.
 
🚩 Units of the "Dnipro" group of troops completed the liberation of the settlement of Malaya Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

🔥 Damage was inflicted on personnel and equipment of a heavy mechanized brigade of the AFU in the areas of the settlements of Malokaterinivka, Orekhov, and Stepnogorsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.

▪️ More than 110 servicemen, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, 14 vehicles, two field artillery guns, seven electronic warfare stations, two ammunition depots, and a warehouse of material resources were destroyed.
 
✈️ Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed two launchers of the mobile coastal missile system "Neptune", a US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system combat vehicle, inflicted damage on fuel and energy complex facilities supporting the functioning of enterprises of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, a workshop for assembling long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 141 districts.
 
🎯 Air defense means shot down a guided aerial bomb, four HIMARS multiple launch rocket system rockets of US production, two long-range guided "Neptune" missiles, and 197 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

"The Road to Varvarovka: liberation of Rovnopolye and advance to the R-85 highway

Not even a day passed before another positive news came from the East Zaporizhzhia direction. Russian units pushed the enemy out of Rovnopolye north of the previously liberated Yablokovo and raised state flags in several parts of the village.

The assault by the 114th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 127th Division of the 5th Army of the Guards “Vostok” was supported by UAV operators and artillery. This allowed isolating the Ukrainian formations in the settlement from supplies and reserves.

📌 Currently, the advanced units of the 114th regiment are continuing their attacks further west towards Varvarovka, where a still partially operational supply route for the garrison of Huliaipole runs along the R-85 highway.

❗️ The enemy is trying to establish a new defensive line on the heights near the “Tselinnaya Balka” nature reserve. Nevertheless, considering the pace of the Guards “Vostok” advance, it is unlikely they will succeed in time.
