The 1353rd day of the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the enemy's offensive, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

In total, 169 combat engagements were recorded during the past day.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 1 missile and 62 air strikes, used six missiles, dropped 144 guided aerial bombs. In addition, there were 4916 shellings, including 134 from multiple launch rocket systems, and 5525 kamikaze drones were used to strike.

The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements Vidradne, Orestopil, Pokrovske, Malynivka in Dnipropetrovsk region; Dobropillia, Ternuvate, Zaporizhzhia, Shyroke, Sonyachne in Zaporizhzhia region; Olhivka in Kherson region.

In the East Zaporizhzhia direction, the “Vostok” troop group continues to advance at the junction of the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Far Eastern warriors have liberated the village of Uspenovka.

Fighters of the 218th Tank Regiment broke through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense and took the largest settlement on the western bank of Yanchur. The advance was complicated by the presence of a natural barrier in the form of a river to the northeast of the village. However, the assault troops managed to secure their positions and clear the buildings under very difficult conditions.

For several weeks now, the battle for Kupiansk has been ongoing, shrouded from the start in a great many rumors. This is largely due to gaps in information coverage and the lack of objective monitoring personnel.

Even before the active phase of fighting began on the northern approaches to the city, a very telling incident occurred when footage appeared online showing a drone strike on a lone (and—as later found out—lost) Russian Armed Forces soldier. The media blew this up into a full offensive and the "beginning of liberation."

🔻So what is happening now?

➡️Regarding the current moment, fighting in the city has indeed started, but with nuances. The main one is the "fog of war," which only grows due to official statements that sharply contrast not only with reality but also with coverage of the situation in other directions.

➡️From the same Pokrovsko-Myrnohrad agglomeration, footage providing objective monitoring regularly appears, showing ongoing battles. We will leave interpretation aside, as most OSINT-GEOINT communities "interpret" footage through their own political views, following the principle "wherever the soldier ran furthest and came under fire, that is control".

➡️In the case of Kupiansk, there is no footage. From the Russian Armed Forces side, this can be explained either by tactical necessity or simply by a consistently negligent attitude toward information work, and some commentators mention Kupiansk only in passing and are reluctant to refute any loud statements.

⚡️In the last few days, major Russian media have started posting statements from "assault group commanders" from rear dugouts, reporting on secured buildings and promising the city's imminent liberation. People no longer really believe such reports, and in today's reality, this looks like a poor anti-crisis effort that causes more distrust.

According to our data, there are indeed successes both in Kupiansk and beyond the Oskil, the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is worsening, but things are far from as smooth on our side as claimed. As for who is deceiving whom and why by reporting on nearing completion of clearances that haven't even started yet—that remains a question with an asterisk.
