"Black Sea Region Under Fire: On the strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the western part of Crimea

Ukrainian forces continue to methodically attack military infrastructure in the western part of the Crimean Peninsula. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasing reconnaissance activity in the area of the Tendra and Kinburn Spits.

The enemy's goal remains the same — to weaken the air defense capabilities in the region as much as possible in order to increase the number of strikes on other targets later.

🔻Combined Attacks:

▪️In the past few days, enemy reconnaissance UAV flights have been recorded along the western coast of Crimea near Yevpatoria. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also attempted to attack Neptune cruise missile targets near Vityne.

▪️The enemy combines various reconnaissance and strike means. A wide range of reconnaissance UAVs — from "Leleka" to "Bayraktars" — are used to detect Russian Armed Forces positions. Strikes, in turn, are carried out by loitering munitions, fixed-wing UAVs, cruise missiles, and FPV drones controlled via Starlink.

▪️Additionally, in recent days, there has been an increase in enemy reconnaissance activity in the area of the Tendra Spit and actions by loitering munition groups along the southern coast of the Kherson region. Ukrainian drones conduct reconnaissance of Crimea also from the north, from the Steregushchy side.

📌Ukrainian forces deliberately target radar stations that are part of air defense missile systems, as well as civilian communication and connection facilities. By doing so, the enemy plans to reduce the Russian Armed Forces' ability to detect and intercept Ukrainian strike means, making the military infrastructure less protected from attacks.

❗️A significant portion of enemy UAVs is intercepted by air defense. Nevertheless, the methodical nature and use of various strike means may eventually yield results. Therefore, it is important not to lower vigilance and to seek new ways to counter raids and protect military infrastructure.

"Operational information as of 08:00 on 22.09.2025 regarding the Russian invasion

The 1307th day of the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the enemy's offensive, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

In total, 156 combat clashes were recorded during the past day.

According to updated information, yesterday the enemy carried out 94 airstrikes, dropping 191 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they conducted 5469 shellings, including 235 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 6470 kamikaze drones to strike.

The aggressor carried out airstrikes, including in the areas of the settlements of Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region; Havrylivka in Dnipropetrovsk region; Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia region; Inhulets, Odradokamyanka in Kherson region.

During the past day, the aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two command posts, nine areas of personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, three UAV command posts, an artillery unit in position, and two enemy military supply depots.

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks by invading forces. The enemy also carried out 14 airstrikes, using 34 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 165 shellings, including 11 from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South-Slobozhansky direction, the enemy tried 13 times to break through the defensive lines of our defenders near the settlements of Vovchansk, Tyhe, Zapadne, and towards Odradne.

In the Kupiansk direction, six enemy attacks took place yesterday. Our defenders repelled enemy assault actions in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Krugliakivka, and Kupiansk.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted 21 attacks. They tried to break into our defense near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Torske, and Novoselivka.

In the Siversky direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance near Serebrianka and towards Vyimka and Yampil.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupier attacked three times towards Stupochky and Novomarkove.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Rusynyi Yar, Poltavka, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 49 assault actions of the aggressor near the settlements of Pankivka, Nikanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Chunishyne, Zvirove, Udachne, Kotlyne, and Dachne.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy carried out 20 attacks near the settlements of Filiya, Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Maliivka, Sichneve, Komyshuvakha, Vorone, Novomykolaivka, and Zaporizke during the past day.

In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled four attacks by the occupiers near Olhivske and towards Poltavka.

In the Orikhiv direction, the invaders tried six times to advance on the positions of our troops near Kamianske and towards Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka.

During the past day, no offensive actions were conducted by the enemy in the Prydniprovske direction.

No signs of enemy offensive group formation were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.

Our warriors inflict significant losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment and actively undermine the enemy's offensive potential in the rear.

In total, the losses of Russian invaders amounted to 960 personnel during the past day. Ukrainian warriors also destroyed a tank, an armored combat vehicle, 47 artillery systems, a multiple launch rocket system, three helicopters, 403 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 118 units of enemy automotive equipment."

▪️ Enemy losses amounted to over 240 servicemen, 18 cars, and four field artillery guns, two of which are of Western production. Destroyed were a US-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station, 10 electronic warfare stations, and four ammunition depots.
 
📍 Units of the "South" troop group occupied more advantageous lines and positions. They inflicted damage on formations of six mechanized, motorized infantry, assault brigades of the AFU, two territorial defense brigades, and a National Guard brigade in the areas of the settlements of Severesk, Mayskoye, Reznikovka, Minkovka, Berestok, Ivanopolye, and Konstantinovka in the DPR.

▪️ The enemy lost up to 210 servicemen, three armored combat vehicles, nine cars, and five field artillery guns. Two electronic warfare stations, an ammunition depot, and a fuel depot were destroyed.
 
📍 Units of the "Center" troop group improved their position along the front line. They inflicted damage on personnel and equipment of four mechanized, airmobile, airborne, assault, two airborne assault brigades, three assault regiments of the AFU, two marine brigades, and a territorial defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Dimitrov, Moskovskoe, Rodinskoe, Krasny Liman, Balagan, and Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR.

✈️ Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops, and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces troop groups inflicted damage on a Ukrainian aviation industry enterprise, military airfield infrastructure, storage and launch sites of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, a foreign mercenary training center, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations in 147 areas.

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 83 combat clashes on the front. Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the lines, and destroying the Russians' plans.

During the day, the enemy from the territory of the Russian Federation carried out artillery shelling in the areas of the settlements of Bachivsk, Stara Huta in the Sumy region; Bleshniya in the Chernihiv region.

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks, with three more clashes ongoing. The enemy carried out five airstrikes, dropped 15 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 103 artillery shellings, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.

It is a new joint military mission to bolster defense of Europe's eastern flank, also after Romania had more recently reported a Russian drone incursion, resulting in the scrambling of fighter jets to track it.

"Following the Russian drone incursions into Poland, I have decided to deploy three Rafale fighter jets to contribute to the protection of Polish airspace and of NATO’s Eastern Flank together with our Allies," President Emmanuel Macron announced on X this week. Along with France, the effort includes the UK, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Spain, and The Netherlands. More nations are expected to join.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has confirmed that his country will deploy Royal Air Force jets to Poland, while Italy will contribute two Eurofighter jets, and Germany has readied four Eurofighters. Denmark will also sent jets, and Czech Mi-171S helicopters have also arrived in Poland. Over 150 NATO troops have also initially arrived along with the equipment.

Anti-drone defense systems in NATO countries still need to be developed, Latvia's President Edgars Rinkevics told a press conference on Tuesday.

NATO on Friday launched "Eastern Sentry," a new military mission to bolster defense of Europe's eastern flank in response to Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace last week.

The Washington Post wrote on Monday, "The incident raised serious questions about the alliance’s readiness to counter the relatively cheap, highly maneuverable but devastatingly destructive unmanned aerial vehicles that have redefined modern warfare since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022."

Additionally, in a Monday interview, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski called on NATO countries to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

"We as NATO and the EU could be capable of doing this, but it is not a decision that Poland can make alone; it can only be made with its allies," he said."
