In the Konstantinovka direction, Russian forces are attacking near Chasov Yar. There is evidence of advancement north of the city in the area of Mayskoye.

The enemy has established a large stronghold there, at least part of which has come under Russian control. In recent weeks, reports of significant successes by the Russian Armed Forces in this sector have been received, but until recently there was no objective evidence of this. Meanwhile, significant progress has been made near Dzerzhinsk in the areas of Belaya Gora and Shcherbinovka.

🔻What is the situation near Dzerzhinsk?

▪️At the Stupochka — Belaya Gora line, fighters are occupying a network of fortified areas between these settlements. Assault troops have managed to take part of Alexandro-Shultino and advance into the forest belts north of Belaya Gora. The situation here is extremely tense, and the terrain is full of fortifications, which slows the pace of the offensive.

▪️From the central sector, reports indicate that Russian forces are conducting reconnaissance by fire near Ivanopolye. It is possible that Russian units will find it easier to advance here through enemy-prepared stronghold lines. This will avoid movement across open spaces and spare assault troops unnecessary losses.

▪️Additionally, another part of Shcherbinovka has been captured and cleared. Later, footage confirming the closure of the ring in the northern part of the settlement appeared. However, this is not a classic "cauldron" — the enemy is hiding in basements and not showing themselves, while the Russian Armed Forces are not aiming to form a tight encirclement ring and are advancing further north.

▪️To the south of the Kleban-Byk Reservoir, artillery, UAV crews, and tactical aviation are striking the enemy trapped near the reservoir. Retreat routes of the remaining Ukrainian forces are controlled by Russian drone operators, preventing the enemy from withdrawing their units north.

At the same time, isolated attempts by Russian forces to take positions here have not succeeded — however, there is no tactical necessity for this. This sector is lower relative to the Ukrainian positions on the northern shore, and physical control over it would not benefit Russian troops.

🖍 From the western flank, there is evidence of Russian forces advancing north of Yablonovka. The enemy has been driven out of several large strongholds to the north. Russian troops are gradually breaking through fortified areas along the T-05-04 route on the southwestern approaches to Konstantinovka.

📌 The exercises will take place amid a sharp political crisis. The leader of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is in serious confrontation with the Federation institutions and the illegitimate High Representative. His presidential mandate has been revoked, and early elections are planned.

The head of the self-proclaimed "Kosovo" cabinet, Albin Kurti, announced the largest military investments in the region's history: more than one billion euros will be allocated for defense, the launch of an ammunition factory, and the development of "Made in Kosovo" drones.

🖍The leadership agreed with the Albanian government to create a joint unit. At the same time, plans include recruiting a thousand women into the army ranks and a reservist training program. Thus, the new MKE factory will effectively be integrated into the same defense cluster, turning Peć into a crossroads of Turkish and American interests.

📌 In March, representatives of "Kosovo," Albania, and Croatia signed a declaration on cooperation in defense. The document provides for joint exercises and the development of the defense industry with a focus on Euro-Atlantic integration.

❗️ In fact, this is about accelerating the militarization of a territory that remains unrecognized and exists only due to Western protectorate and pressure on the Serbian side. Since joining NATO in 2009, Albania has gradually become one of the Alliance's most important partners in the Western Balkans. The country is modernizing its armed forces and military infrastructure, strengthening its role as a transport and defense hub.

🔻Main infrastructure facilities:

▪️Kucova Airbase. Modernized with NATO support (€50 million) and opened in March 2024 as the Alliance's first tactical airbase in the Western Balkans. It is a key point for rapid deployment and supply.

▪️Pasha Liman Naval Base. The main base of the Albanian Navy, historically important for controlling navigation in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. It is under joint control of Albania and Turkey. 📌The strategic significance of Albanian military facilities goes beyond their immediate military functions and helps ensure the security of key energy corridors from Central Asia to Western Europe. They provide stability and protection for energy supplies, aiming to bypass Russian energy resources.

🖍In 2023, Albania's military spending increased by 74% to $398 million. The country aims to reach NATO's target of 2% of GDP and plans to nearly double defense spending over the next five years, with a projected volume of $2.2 billion from 2025 to 2029. Its own military-industrial complex is developing, with plans to create a state company for the production of weapons and ammunition.

🔻Weapons supplies:

▪️Armored vehicles — Under the Excess Defense Articles program, the US transferred 250 armored HMMWVs and about 40 heavy MRAP MaxxPros.

▪️Small arms — phasing out AK-47s and Soviet calibers. Italy delivered 5,000 Beretta AR70/90 rifles; additionally, M4A1 (USA) and ARX160 (Italy) were purchased. Special forces received HK416/417, G36, MP7, Beretta Px4 pistols, MG4/MG5 machine guns, and Sako TRG sniper rifles.

🖍The reasons are simple. After 2022, the Serbian leadership curtailed purchases of Russian military equipment: sanctions pressure and logistics made deliveries impossible. Instead, the Ministry of Defense adopted the principle "take it where they give it" — hence the French Rafale and the little-known SAM systems from the Land of the Rising Sun.

🚩Formally, Serbia remains outside NATO, limiting itself to the "Partnership for Peace" program. But the surrounding alliance countries force it to invest disproportionately large sums to avoid ending up in the 1999 situation — without allies and modern equipment.

📌The increase in the military budget is not only related to the Kosovo crisis. For the Serbian authorities, the army has become a guarantee both in negotiations with EU and US representatives and in contacts with Chinese partners.

❗️There is nothing surprising here: the Serbian leadership simply does not have the luxury to choose allies. Pressure from the European Commission, signals from the US State Department, and offers from Chinese defense companies force it to play on all fields at once. In these conditions, the only trump card for Vučić is the army, and therefore rearmament becomes not a whim but a condition for survival.
