Universal basic income of £1,600 a month to be trialled in two places in England

Scheme to run for two years and participants will be monitored to see what effect it has on mental and physical health.

Two places in England have been selected for the micro pilot scheme: central Jarrow, in north-east England, and East Finchley, in north London.

Will Stronge, the director of research at the thinktank Autonomy, which is backing the plan, said of the £1,600 figure: “This is a substantial amount. Universal Basic Income usually covers people’s basic needs but we want to see what effect this unconditional lump sum has on people’s mental and physical health, whether they choose to work or not.

“Our society is going to require some form of basic income in the coming years, given the tumult of climate change, tech disruption and industrial transition that lies ahead. This is why building the evidence base and public engagement now is so important, so the ground is well prepared for national implementation.”

Covid disinformation unit made 'hourly contact' with tech firms, its leader reveals

Sarah Connolly can today be revealed as head of the secretive government unit that flagged critics of lockdown and pandemic policy

"The civil servant – who can today be named as Sarah Connolly – said that one of the Counter Disinformation Unit’s (CDU’s) main functions was “passing information over” to companies such as Facebook and Twitter to “encourage… the swift takedown” of posts.

WHO Pandemic Treaty Will Give it Power to Declare Pandemics, Lockdowns and Vaccine Mandates With Force of Law, Leading Experts Tell MPs

The World Health Organisation’s (WHO) proposed Pandemic Treaty and amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) will hand the international health body unprecedented powers to declare pandemics, lockdowns and vaccination mandates, with the force of international law, leading experts have told MPs.

Speaking to U.K. lawmakers at a meeting of the Pandemic Response and Recovery All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), Dr. David Bell, a former WHO scientific and medical officer, and Professor Garrett Wallace Brown, Chair in Global Health Policy at the University of Leeds and Director of the World Health Organisation Collaborative Centre on Health Systems and Health Security, said that the changes would fundamentally alter the relationship between WHO and member states and put vital health programmes at risk.

Dr. Bell explained that the two agreements, as currently drafted, will hand the WHO the authority to order measures including significant financial contributions by individual states, censorship of scientific debate, lockdowns, travel restrictions, forced medical examinations and mandatory vaccinations during a public health emergency of its own declaring.

As was to be expected, the UK’s ‘Covid Inquiry’ is little more than a revisionist box-checking exercise, remedying nothing and only reasserting the mocking indifference the UK’s political class feels toward the public.

These bureaucrats are not even built to withstand the suffering they inflicted on the people of this country. Yet they’ve been provided a platform once more to advocate, on the record, for precisely the wrong approach all over again for when the notorious “next pandemic” rolls around. Only then, we’re told, measures should be enacted faster and with greater stringency.

“Every Story Matters” is the slogan of choice for the Inquiry. Yet it seems a great many stories are being disregarded.

So to those people whose stories deserve acknowledgement…

To the whistleblowers; doctors, nurses, scientists, lawyers and professionals that put their heads above the parapet and spoke their truth to their own detriment.

To every activist that put their life on hold to organize protests and challenge the Coronavirus Act as soon as it was imposed.

To the principled few that lost their livelihoods and reputations for placing morality over an income bracket.

To the vaccine-injured and bereaved.

To all who lost loved ones in the name of following the science; be it to poor health, an injection, a policy, a protocol or a pathway.

To those whose relationships and friendships were pushed to breaking point amidst the weaponized behavioral psychology, propaganda and social pressure.

To all those whose mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing has been tested through this onslaught.

To the so-called ‘conspiracy theorists’ that endured mass ridicule for years only to watch so many arrive at this long-prefigured crossroads.

To the alternative media outlets that stepped up when most in the mainstream had abandoned their duties and values.

To every trucker. Every farmer. Every yellow board.

Every rebel on every roundabout.

To every person on the side of human freedom across the world.
