Small COVID-19 outbreaks keep plaguing Australia.
The strain, which is becoming the dominant strain, is extremely contagious and some people are spreading it more than others.

A coronavirus variant first spotted in India is poised to become the dominant one in the United States, where infectious disease modelers say it could cause a "resurgence" of Covid-19 later this year.
And it may already account for 1 in every 5 infections nationwide, experts say.
The Delta variant, as it's now called, has swept across the UK, all but replacing the Alpha variant first identified there late last year.
"This is the most transmissible of all the variants that we've seen," Dr. Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, told CNN's Ana Cabrera Monday.
"We saw what happened in the UK, where it overtook the entire nation. So I'm worried that's going to happen in the US," he said. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/22/health/covid-variant-delta-gamma/index.html

Local officials are sounding the alarm over an increase in Covid-19 infections just as the nation prepares to celebrate a Fourth of July holiday that many hoped would mark the start of the resumption of normal life.
In Arkansas, which has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the nation, cases are surging, officials said. In Los Angeles County, where the vaccination rate is slightly above the national average, officials warned about a possible new wave of infections, especially given the rapid spread of the Delta variant. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/07/02/health/us-coronavirus-friday/index.html
