Minneapolis Police's Katie Blackwell sued Alpha News for libel for the news outlet reporting that officers said she lied under oath. Katie is accused of perjuring herself in the the Derek Chauvin trial. She said during the trial "I don't know what kind of improvised position that is" when referring to Derek Chauvin using the knee-on-the-neck hold on George Floyd.
Yet more than a dozen police officers are saying that this is how they were trained to restrain... to stop the head and shoulders because "the body follows the head". They even have pictures of police training videos demonstrating it. Also, Katie herself is in a photo in their museum showing her using this method of restraint.
Her potentially false testimony is why he was found guilty of murder.
A total of 49 declarations were filed with the court by Alpha News’ attorneys from various police officers, law enforcement experts, and public officials.
