How many independent shops versus chain stores are there in Wigan town centre right now? Are there enough to do an independent retailer-focused outreach on keeping cash, digital currencies and digital ID (like we did at Leigh on Saturday)?

This film's like a familiar cosy blanket for relaxation and we might watch it the rare time we fancy a film. It (briefly) has Joanna Lumley in for a short few scenes (which she acts well) and yes she is hated by some but this remains one of my favourite films regardless. I ❤️ it. Shirley Valentine.

Why should we pay with cash.

I have a £20 note in my pocket. Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it.

The restaurant owner then uses the note to pay for the laundry. The laundry owner then uses the note to pay the barber. The barber will then use the note to pay for shopping.

After a number of other payments, it will still have a £20 value, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment.

BUT

IF I go to a restaurant and pay digitally via Card,

- the bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around £1.50

(and so will be the fee at the laundry or the barber etc.....

Therefore, after a number of transactions, the initial £20 will exist at around £2 and the remaining £48 has become the property of the bank … thanks to all of the digital transactions and fees!

Use it or lose it folks…
