⚓️ On November 28, Ambassador Mr. Levan Dzhagaryan welcomed in Colombo the Russian Pacific Fleet corvette “Gremyashchiy”.

Along with 7 warships from other 6 nations (Bangladesh, India, Iran, the Maldives, Malaysia, Pakistan), it arrived to the Sri Lankan capital in order to take part in the International Fleet Review 2025, commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Navy.

Gremyashchiy-class corvettes are very large multipurpose vessels, designed to complement the Steregushchiy class already being commissioned with the Russian Navy. They have been designed to have an improved habitability for higher endurance missions, and are able to launch cruise missiles. They are equipped with cutting-edge hypersonic anti-ship missiles Tsirkon.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from the 'Moscow. Kremlin. Putin television programme' (Moscow, November 30, 2025)

Europe has been acting so outrageously, demanding some sort of role in the talks. Can they even demand anything?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: It wasn’t really discussed.

We proceed from the premise (as also stated by representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, including Yury Ushakov) — which I believe is obvious to everybody — that Europe has already removed itself from the talks.

Europe spoiled the initial deal of February 2014, when it acted as guarantor for the formal agreement between Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition. It did nothing when the opposition seized all government agencies the morning after the agreement was signed.

Similarly, Europe undermined the Minsk agreements when the signatories, then Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and the then President of France Francois Hollande, subsequently admitted that nobody had intended to fulfil the agreements.

The most recent case occurred in April 2022 when, at the demand of then UK prime minister Boris Johnson and with Europe’s full acquiescence, if not connivance, the Istanbul agreements were derailed.

👉 Europe has used up its chances.
⚡️ Comment by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the Kiev regime’s terrorist attacks in the Black Sea (November 30, 2025)

Read in full

💬 On November 28, in the southern Black Sea off the coast of Türkiye, unmanned seagoing boats attacked and damaged the tankers Kairos and Virat, sailing under the Gambian flag and en route to the port of Novorossiysk; the following morning, the Virat was attacked a second time.

Furthermore, in the early hours of November 29, a similar attack by unmanned surface vessels took place within the seaport of Novorossiysk itself, rendering a VPU-2 mooring unit completely inoperable. This critical infrastructure belongs to the international Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which comprises fuel and energy companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, the United States, and several Western European nations.

The Kiev regime’s intelligence services have all but claimed responsibility for these attacks, publishing video evidence of the acts in Ukrainian media.

❗️ We strongly condemn these terrorist attacks and the actions of all parties involved in their planning and execution.

Our friends in the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs have already lodged a protest concerning this latest, third act of aggression against the CPC. Our Turkish partners have also expressed their concern over these events.

We must emphasise that the targeted civilian energy infrastructure plays a vital role in ensuring global energy security and has never been subject to any international restrictions or sanctions.

It is noteworthy that the terrorist attacks in the Black Sea on November 28 and 29 coincide with a large-scale corruption scandal in Ukraine – which has once again exposed the criminal nature of the junta that usurped power – and the subsequent resignations of high-ranking figures within the Kiev regime.

It appears that certain Western sponsors of Kiev are keen to redirect Ukrainian society’s attention towards these high-profile attacks on civilian targets. They are attempting to present a demoralised Ukrainian public with yet another illusory “victory” to obscure the crumbling front in the special military operation zone and the frankly dire condition of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

We also see a direct link between these attacks and attempts to hinder ongoing international efforts to achieve a sustainable peace. <...>

The Kiev regime’s terrorist acts are a deliberate signal to those currently seeking a negotiated solution, including in the context of Donald Trump’s recent initiatives.

☝️ We call on all sober-minded parties to condemn the terrorist attacks committed in the Black Sea on November 28 and 29, which jeopardise the safety of navigation in this vital waterway, and to give a proper assessment of the destructive actions of the Kiev regime and its handlers.

“I did everything possible to fulfill my duty...”

🏅 On December 1, 1896, Georgy Zhukov was born – the legendary Marshal of Victory and four-time Hero of the Soviet Union, who played a pivotal role in the Soviet Union’s Victory over Nazi Germany.

Born into a peasant family, he joined the army in 1915 and fought in the First World War. He served in the Red Army from 1918, rising from platoon commander to Army General, and during the Great Patriotic War, in 1943, was awarded the rank of Marshal of the Soviet Union.

He won his first major victory in the Battle of Khalkhin Gol in 1939. Thanks to Zhukov’s decisive actions, the Japanese army was encircled and destroyed, that became a key factor in Japan’s decision to abandon plans for a large-scale invasion of the USSR.

Zhukov’s strategic talent was displayed in full during the Great Patriotic War (World War II). He commanded the forces that defended Leningrad and Moscow, fought in the Battle of Kursk, crossed the Dnieper River, participated in the Byelorussian and Vistula-Oder offensives, and stormed Berlin. It was he who commanded the 1st Byelorussian Front during the final assault on Berlin, accepted Germany’s surrender, and took the first historic Victory Parade.

🎖 Marshal of the Soviet Union since 1943, four times Hero of the USSR, and two times Cavalier of the Order of Victory. In the postwar period, Georgy Zhukov was First Deputy Minister of Defence and later USSR Minister of Defence; he carried out sweeping reforms in the Soviet Army.

✍️ From Georgy Zhukov's memoirs: “The main thing for me was to serve my Motherland and my people. And I can say with clean conscience: I did everything possible to fulfill my duty… I was living my life with awareness that I worked for the benefit of my people, and this is the principal thing for any life.”

⚔️ December 1 is the Day of Military Glory of Russia

Victory of the Russian squadron at Cape Sinop

On December 1, 1853, the Black Sea Fleet squadron under Admiral Pavel Nakhimov won a remarkable victory over the Ottoman fleet in the Battle of Sinop.

The Black Sea squadron dealt a decisive blow to the forces of Osman Pasha. Fifteen of the enemy’s sixteen ships were destroyed, while no Russian ships were lost. According to various estimates, 3-4K Ottoman sailors were killed, and around 200 were taken prisoner.

The defeat of Osman Pasha’s squadron severely weakened the Ottoman Empire’s naval capabilities and derailed its plans to land troops on the Caucasian coast.

This victory reaffirmed the Russian fleet’s dominance in the Black Sea.

The Battle of Sinop became the last major engagement of the Age of Sail. Vice Admiral Vladimir Kornilov, one of the defenders of Sevastopol, praised it as “A glorious battle, surpassing Chesma and Navarin!”
🎙 Statement by Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova regarding the remarks made by Chairman of the NATO Military Committee (December 1, 2025)

💬 We took note of the recent interview given by Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Giuseppe Cavo Dragone to The Financial Times. Discussing the bloc’s response to alleged “hybrid attacks” from Russia, he claimed that “a pre-emptive strike could be considered a defensive action”, and that the North Atlantic Alliance should supposedly act “more aggressively”.

We regard Admiral Dragone’s statement about possible delivery of pre-emptive strikes against Russia as an extremely irresponsible step, indicating the Alliance’s readiness to continue moving towards escalation. We consider this a deliberate effort to undermine efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Those making such statements must be fully aware of the risks and possible consequences – including for the Alliance’s own members.

❗️ NATO has long ceased to conceal its true goals and intentions. At the same time, the Alliance’s leadership somehow finds the audacity to accuse Russia of “bellicose nuclear rhetoric”, intimidation, and so-called hybrid attacks – without presenting any evidence whatsoever.

Against the backdrop of the anti-Russian hysteria being fuelled by NATO and its constant attempts to spread fear of an allegedly “imminent Russian attack” on NATO countries, such statements do not just add fuel to the fire – they seriously ignite an already existing confrontation.

Brussels likes to repeat the mantra about the Alliance’s “purely defensive” nature.

👉 Admiral Dragone’s self-exposing remarks about “pre-emptive strikes” put a bold line under this myth.
✉️ President of Russia Vladimir Putin has extended his condolences to President of #SriLanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake:

🇱🇦 On December 2, #Laos celebrates the 5️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of the proclamation of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

This commemorative date coincides with the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory.

The defeat of Nazism and the end of World War II gave a powerful impetus to the process of decolonisation in Asia. The Lao people, who declared their independence in October 1945, needed several more decades to defend it.

As a result of determined struggle and political and diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving the country’s neutrality amid foreign aggression in Indochina, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic was officially established in 1975.

Our country played a significant role in supporting the Lao people in their national liberation movement, as well as in building Lao statehood, developing the economy, and strengthening its defense capabilities.

With support from the USSR, major industrial enterprises, key transport infrastructure, medical institutions, and educational facilities were built.

🤝 Diplomatic relations between our countries were established on October 7, 1960. On March 9, 1994, the Treaty on the Fundamentals of Friendly Relations was signed. In October 2011, the Declaration on the Russia–Laos Strategic Partnership in the Asia-Pacific Region was adopted.

Today, our countries are seeing steady progress in the development of a trust-based dialogue at the highest and high levels, expanded cooperation between parliaments and government agencies and intensified trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and regional ties within the framework of the Russia–Laos strategic partnership.

💬 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov:
We highly value the careful attitude of our Lao friends toward the pages of our shared past, the preservation of historical truth and the prevention of any attempts to distort it. We know that Laos cherishes the memory of the assistance our country provided in establishing its statehood. <...> Under current conditions, Russia and Laos face new challenges and opportunities. The strengthening of strategic partnership between our countries allows us to look to the future with hope and optimism

(excerpt from the article by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for Lao media, “Russia and Laos: 65 Years of Time-Tested Friendship”, November 20, 2025)

🎉 We congratulate our Lao colleagues and friends on their national holiday and wish them well-being and prosperity!

🇦🇪 On December 2, the United Arab Emirates celebrates the UAE #NationalDay.

#OTD in 1971, the establishment of a new Arab state, comprising six emirates, was proclaimed in Dubai. The seventh emirate, Ras Al Khaimah, joined the federation in February 1972.

On December 8, 1971, just several days after the proclamation of the national state by the United Arab Emirates, the Soviet Union and the UAE established diplomatic relations. The Embassy of the USSR opened in Abu Dhabi in 1986, followed by the establishing of the UAE diplomatic mission in Moscow in 1987.

#UAE is one of Russia’s key partners in the #MiddleEast. The multifaceted and traditionally friendly Russia-UAE ties constitute a strategic partnership.

Our bilateral relations benefit from active political dialogue, extensive delegation exchanges, and regular meetings at the high and highest levels. The Foreign Ministers of Russia and the UAE hold regular meetings and telephone conversations.

In December 2023, President of Russia Vladimir Putin paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, where the Russian Leader held talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In August 2025, the Emirati Leader paid an official visit to the Russian Federation.

🤝 Moscow and Abu Dhabi actively cooperate at international platforms, including within the #UN. The UAE’s full-fledged #BRICS participation since January 2024 has strengthened the group’s political, economic, scientific and technological potential, offering additional opportunities for promoting bilateral cooperation.

Cooperation in tourism has been demonstrating positive dynamic. Almost 2 million Russian citizens visited the UAE in 2024. There is a growing interest in visiting our country among Emirati tourists, with over 67'000 travelers in 2024.

💬 President of Russia Vladimir Putin during talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Kremlin (August 7, 2025):
We attach special importance to our relations with the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE is a friendly nation.

🎉 We congratulate our Emirati colleagues and friends on their national holiday, wish them success and prosperity!
