🇷🇺🇬🇳 On November 8, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Guineans Abroad of the Republic of Guinea Morissanda Kouyaté held a meeting on the sidelines of the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi.

The Ministers discussed a range of topical issues related to the further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Guinean relations, with an emphasis on promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and humanitarian areas.

They also agreed to step up contacts between the foreign ministries in the interests of finding effective solutions to the ongoing conflicts on the African continent in accordance with international law and the UN Charter provisions.

💬 Thank you for accepting our invitation to visit Sochi to attend the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.

The decision to hold this conference was made on the sidelines of last year’s Russia-Africa Summit held in St Petersburg. We are starting our new tradition now.

I hope that we will be able to report to our leaders on the positive results of our talks that will take place tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and to obtain their endorsements of the recommendations that we make. I think that the draft documents have already been agreed.

I am delighted to see you. We will have the opportunity to exchange views on the bilateral agenda and on our cooperation on other tracks on the sidelines of this conference.

🇷🇺🇩🇿 On November 8, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Ahmed Attaf held a meeting on the sidelines of the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi.

The Ministers discussed topical issues of further promoting the deep strategic partnership between Russia and Algeria. They noted with satisfaction the high level of coordination at various multilateral venues, including the UN Security Council.

They also had a trust-based discussion on global and regional matters of mutual interest, with an emphasis on the developments in the Middle East and the Sahara-Sahel region and on the need to find a prompt resolution of conflict situations exclusively via political and diplomatic means based on the generally recognised principles of international law and the provisions of the UN Charter.

The Ministers discussed a wide range of issues of the further progressive development of the traditionally friendly bilateral relations, including:

• ways to step up political dialogue,
• invigorate mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation,
• expand humanitarian ties.
