💬 Briefing of Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-Large on the Kiev regime's war crimes Rodion Miroshnik:

🔻Starting 2024, the number of victims among civilians, killed or wounded as a result of the shelling by the armed forces of Ukraine, has been increasing. This "growth" is directly linked to the intensification of shipments of the Western equipment. Lately, Kiev has received foreign arms, and been officially authorised to use it against Russian regions. The victims of the shelling are mostly minors, women, the elderly. They have nothing to do with the armed or security forces.

According to the data from January 1 to June 30, 2024, at least 2'547 civilians have become victims of Ukrainian Nazis; 2'082 people have been wounded; 465 have been killed.

✖️Amidst the West's ostensible concern for child welfare, there has been a conspicuous silence regarding the prosecution of Ukrainian militants responsible for the deaths of children. Notably, many of the children affected are themselves Ukrainian, yet their plight seems inconsequential to Western politicians. Rather than striving to halt this bloodshed and prevent loss of innocent lives, international organization have seemingly transformed into instruments of propaganda, adhering to the directives of the West.

❗️Millions of Western taxpayers should ask themselves whether they truly want to continue funding the totalitarian Kiev regime that murders civilians. This regime uses deadly weapons to target residential areas, hospitals, and schools, attacks journalists, and imprisons those who have opposed it for many years. It orchestrates and commits political assassinations of civil leaders and commits horrific crimes against humanity.

⚡️Crimes committed by the Kiev regime are verifiable and must be investigated. The perpetrators, including both the architects of the political regime and those who carried out the crimes, must be brought to justice, whether through military actions or court proceedings, which should deliver fair sentences.
🇷🇺🇭🇺 Press statements following Russia's President Vladimir Putin's talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban (July 5, 2024)

💬 President Putin: Our substantive talks with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr Viktor Orban, have just concluded.

It is important that we maintain a dialogue even in the current difficult geopolitical situation.

Like during many of our previous meetings, we had a truly useful and sincere conversation on topical issues of bilateral cooperation and also, naturally, on the acute issues on the international and regional agenda, including developments around Ukraine.

Let me note that Russia and Hungary continue cooperating in a number of areas, above all in the energy sector. Healthy pragmatism and mutual benefit are the key principles.

Work is underway on our flagship joint project to expand the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. Putting into operation the fifth and sixth units will more than double the capacity of the station, hence improving the energy supply of the Hungarian economy and powering industrial enterprises and households with cheap and clean energy.

<...>

Of course, a substantive, direct and honest discussion was held on pressing international issues, including the Ukraine conflict and possible ways to settle it.

Mr Prime Minister told me about his recent meetings in Kiev, where he advanced a number of proposals, among them a call for a ceasefire to create conditions for peace negotiations with Moscow.

As for Russia, I have repeatedly said that we remain open for a discussion on a political and diplomatic settlement. However, the opposite side only makes clear its reluctance to resolve this issue in this manner. Ukraine’s sponsors continue using this country and its people as a ram, making it a victim in the confrontation with Russia.

As we see the state of affairs, including in the light of what we heard today from Mr Prime Minister, Kiev is still not ready to abandon the idea of waging “war until final victory.”

In my opinion, the Kiev regime does not allow the very idea of cessation of hostilities because in this case the pretext for extending martial law disappears. And if the martial law has to be cancelled, it means that the elections, which were not held on time, will have to be held. But the chances of winning them are close to zero for the Ukrainian rulers who have lost their ranking and legitimacy.

👉 Meanwhile, we outlined our peace initiative quite recently at my meeting with the senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. We believe that its implementation would make it possible to end hostilities and begin negotiations.

☝️Moreover, this should not just be a truce or a temporary ceasefire, nor should it be a pause that the Kiev regime could use to recover its losses, regroup and rearm. Russia advocates a full and final end to the conflict. The conditions for that, as I have already said, are set out in my speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are talking about the complete withdrawal of all Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and from the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. There are other conditions as well. But this is a subject for fairly detailed consideration in the course of possible joint work.

***

Given that Hungary has held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union since July 1, Mr Orban and I exchanged views on the state of affairs in relations between Russia and the European Union, which are currently at their lowest point. We also talked about the tentative principles of a future security architecture in Europe, also tentative.

Overall, the talks were very timely and, I think, useful for both sides. Of course, Mr Prime Minister presented a general idea of the Western outlook, which is known to us, including from the point of view of Ukraine’s interests. Nevertheless, we are grateful to Mr Prime Minister for visiting Moscow. We see it as an attempt to restore dialogue and give it an additional impetus.
🇷🇺🇮🇷 President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations to Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly-elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

✉️ President Putin: Russian-Iranian relations are of friendly and good neighbourly nature. Moscow and Tehran effectively coordinate efforts in resolving relevant issues on the international agenda.

I am counting that your activity as President will facilitate further growth of constructive bilateral cooperation in all directions for the benefit of our friendly peoples and will strengthen regional security and stability.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin programme (July 7, 2024, Moscow)

Question: We can see an evident change in the rhetoric of the current Ukrainian leadership: it is less peremptory, they do not mention reaching the 1991 borders. How would you comment on it?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: Zelensky might say something quite the opposite tomorrow.

We will only consider, assess and evaluate specific deeds. For what they say every day we have a saying about Yemelya. Better not to use it as the basis for policy, but decide on our actions proceeding from the objectives set in the special military operation.
🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin programme (July 7, 2024)

Question: You said that Joe Biden was a more preferable president for Russia. But we see what is happening now. How would you comment on that?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: It was President Vladimir Putin who said this in reply to a question about which candidate we “favour.”

Frankly, it is a pathetic sight. When the system of “American democracy” produces such results and this course of the presidential race, anyone can make their own independent conclusions about the way things are orchestrated and arranged.

Take another “democracy,” France. The first round of the presidential election is over there. There can be two rounds, and it appears that the second round was designed to manipulate voters’ will that was expressed during the first round. When candidates can withdraw from the race, and they are convinced to do that to smooth things down for the “victory” of the conservatives or populists, it does not look like democracy.

A direct expression of will is the result of public opinion. We know what people think. If the results of the first round were used to form the parliament, France would have seen serious change.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to questions from the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin programme (July 7, 2024)

Question: Statements have been made about the shelling of Sevastopol and other Russian regions. It has been said that responsibility for that rests with the US. What does this mean?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: President Vladimir Putin said this clearly when explaining the operation of ATACMS and other long-range systems the US is supplying to Ukraine.

It is clear to any technically competent person with understanding of military matters that these missiles cannot be launched without Washington’s involvement in selecting targets and using satellite data for this. It is a fact.

The Americans and other NATO countries continue to say that they are not waging a war against Russia. It is a poor work of a bad job, and they are aware of it.

As for our reaction, President Putin has said that we will give a response. I am sure that you will see it in the foreseeable future.

Question: It has been said that NATO and the EU are preparing for an outcome of the US presidential race that is not to their liking. They intend to give support guarantees to Ukraine proactively, without waiting for the election results.

💬
Sergey Lavrov: That’s what they say. I can’t imagine that those who say this believe what they are saying. But facts is facts, and facts don’t tally with Western assessments.

It is already stirring there. But not because we are "doing it". There are people over there who have retained the ability to analyse the situation and to propose realistic approaches to international events.

The truth is on our side. History is an objective process, and we are watching it right now. They know very well why all this has happened.

When the EU coordinated the beginning of pre-accession talks with Ukraine, Hungary insisted that Kiev must be obliged to act with regard to ethnic minorities in accordance with international conventions.

I had a telephone conversation with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto. He confirmed that they had not only insisted on that wording with regard to the Hungarian minority, which they are especially concerned about, of course, but with regard to all ethnic minorities in Ukraine.

It will be interesting to see how they prepare for the talks, in particular when it comes to that direct request, which the Poroshenko and Zelensky regimes flagrantly violated.

⚡️ This morning, in response to the Kiev regime's attempts to damage objects of Russian power infrastructure and economy, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered a group strike by long-range precision weaponry at objects of the Ukrainian military-industrial infrastructure and AFU aviation bases.

The goal of the strike has been achieved. All the assigned targets have been engaged.

Statements of the Kiev regime about the allegedly deliberate missile strike launched against civilian facilities by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are false.

Numerous published photos and footage from Kiev clearly confirm that the destruction was caused by a Ukrainian air defence missile launched by an anti-aircraft missile system in the city.

We note in particular that similar hysterics by the Kiev regime happen for years and every time on the eve of another meeting (summit) of its patrons from the NATO.

The goal of such provocations is to ensure further funding for the Kiev regime and the continuation of the war to the last Ukrainian.

⚡️ Briefing by Chief of Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops of the Armed Forces of Russia Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov on Ukraine's violation of obligations under Chemical Weapons Convention (July 8, 2024)

Key talking points:

💬 The Kiev regime regularly violates the Chemical Weapons Convention. During the special military operation, more than 400 cases of non-lethal toxic chemicals used by the Ukrainian side were registered.

• The Ukrainian Armed Forces troops use toxic compounds not only in the course of combat actions, but also to carry out terrorist attacks in liberated territories against a number of Russian political figures.

• The existing evidence base proving Ukraine's violating its obligations under the Convention has been submitted to the OPCW's Technical Secretariat, but no response has been forthcoming so far.

• Moreover, the Russian Defence Ministry has information about Ukraine's active cooperation with the OPCW's Technical Secretariat, which has ratified an additional agreement on privileges and immunities for technical assistance visits. This agreement will enable Ukraine to use the OPCW for its own benefit, circumventing the existing procedures under the Convention, by imposing on the Organisation its notoriously false conclusions about chemical investigations.

• A laboratory with chemical equipment was detected in an industrial zone on the ground floor of the destroyed building in one of the locations near Avdeyevka during engineering reconnaissance. <...> Analysis of the containers showed the presence of sulphuric acid and sodium cyanide suggesting the use of found equipment for the production of toxic substances.

• The US is fully in control of the activities of the OPCW. To settle accounts with the 'undesirable' states, Washington has established an attributive mechanism in the OPCW that was used to investigate the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

❗️ According to the available information, the US and Germany, together with Ukraine and the OPCW's Technical Secretariat, are preparing to launch a special mission to investigate the so-called use of chemical weapons in Ukraine, with a view to pressing charges against Russia.

One of the so-called 'independent' states is to initiate investigations and plant evidence that Russia used toxic chemicals during the special military operation. Americans have already committed some $400,000 to this end.

Triumph of Bagration: the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus

✍🏻Joint article by 🇷🇺Ilya Rogachev, Ambassador of Russia to South Africa, and 🇧🇾Igor Bely, Ambassador of Belarus to South Africa (8 July 2024)

READ IN FULL

👉 Key points:

The operation by the Red Army to liberate Soviet Belarus from Nazi occupation was one of the largest in the world’s military history. It was conducted in June-August 1944 and codenamed ‘Bagration,’ after a famous general of Georgian descent in Mikhail Kutuzov’s army, who played an important role in stopping the Napoleonic invasion of Russia in 1812.

The offensive involved 2.4 million Soviet soldiers. In fierce fighting, the Red Army completely wiped out 17 divisions and 3 brigades of the Wehrmacht. Over 50 Nazi divisions were halved, with more than 500,000 enemy soldiers killed and wounded in total.

Operation ‘Bagration’ was commanded by the distinguished Soviet general Konstantin Rokossovsky who proposed his own plan of the operation and convinced Supreme Commander-in-chief Stalin to approve it.

The Red Army’s offensive was supported by all-people partisan movement in Belarus that was unparalleled in scale. Over 374,000 partisans and over 70,000 underground fighters struggled against the invaders in the Nazi-occupied territories.

🔹 Apart from struggle against the Nazis, the Red Army and Belarusian partisans had to fight on another front – against openly hostile Polish nationalist underground. They were particularly active in western parts of Belarus and Ukraine, a.k.a. ‘the Eastern Frontier’ – the territories seized by Warsaw in 1921.

The Soviet leadership presumed ‘the Eastern Frontier’ belonged to the Belarusian and Ukrainian peoples, while Polish nationalists hoped these lands would remain part of Poland after the war. This stance and open animosity towards the USSR led to direct clashes between the Poles and Soviet partisans.

☝🏻 The results of the operation were so significant that they cannot be ignored in any intellectual environment, no matter how hard some Western authors may try to downgrade its significance. The historical truth is that it was the Soviet people who played the key role in defeating Nazism, securing the freedom and independence of many nations across the globe.

⚡️ Russia's Embassy in Canada:

❗️The latest Ottawa’s anti-Russia hysteria regarding the destruction in Kiev caused by a Ukrainian air defence missile is a hypocrisy against the backdrop of the silent reaction to everyday shelling of Russian cities and villages by NATO-supplied missiles and drones.

The more weapons are delivered to Ukrainian neo-Nazis, the longer the conflict will continue with yet more casualties to follow. The best way to stop the bloodshed is a comprehensive settlement based on the peace proposals voiced by President Vladimir Putin on June 14.
🇸🇸 Today, South Sudan celebrates #IndependenceDay!

The independent Republic of South Sudan (RSS) was proclaimed on July 9, 2011, following a twenty-year civil war, which ended with the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, and a referendum on self-determination held on January 9, 2011, where 98 percent of the participants voted in favour of South Sudan’s secession.

Russia recognised the young African state immediately after it gained independence: the corresponding Presidential executive order was signed on July 11, 2011. On July 14, 2011, the RSS was admitted to the UN, and on July 28, to the African Union.

🤝 Relations between Russia and South Sudan are developing very intensively. Trade, economic and humanitarian ties are being strengthened. In 2019, RSS President Salva Kiir Mayardit took part in the first #RussiaAfrica Summit in Sochi, and in September 2023, came to Moscow on an official visit, during which he held talks with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

🎊 We congratulate our South Sudanese colleagues and friends on their national holiday, wish them well-being, stability and prosperity!

🇷🇺🇮🇳 On July 8, 2024 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi held an informal meeting at the presidential residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, Moscow Region.

💬 Vladimir Putin: We will hold official talks tomorrow, and today we can discuss the issues on our agenda unofficially, in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.

<...>

But first I would like to congratulate you on being re-elected as Prime Minister. I think that there is a good reason for that. It is the result of the many years of your work at the helm of government. You have ideas of your own, you are a very energetic person, you know how to get results to benefit India and its people. And the outcome is obvious: India is the third-largest economy in the world. It is probably the largest country in the world by population, 1.4 billion people. <...> You have devoted your whole life to serving the Indian people, and they are aware of that.
