Forwarded from Debbie Hicks- Fight for Justice and Judicial Review
πSAVE THE DATE - WEDNESDAY 26TH APRIL
Debbie Hicks and her brilliant team of lawyers at Murray Hughman Partnership have for the last year been fighting to get a high court appeal and judicial review.
In Nov 21 Debbie was convicted under the Corona Virus Health Regulations of attending a gathering in Hyde Park in April 2020. Judge Snow refused to grant Debbie an appeal, so Debbie asked for a judicial review. This JR will challenge the decision of Westminster Magistrates court to convict Debbie on several points.
In Jan 22 Debbie was convicted under section 5 of the Public Order Act of using threatening words and behaviour while filming Gloucester Hospital. After some challenges, Debbie was finally granted an appeal.
Both cases are centred on the right to freedom of expression, the right to assemble and protest.
Both cases have been rolled into a one day hearing.
If successful, a win with either of these cases could set precedent.
* Confirmed start time will be posted here on Tues 25th April.

β Throwing loose change into the coin baskets at either end of the Clifton Suspension Bridge will soon be a thing of the past.
Reasons given for the change to card-only include a reduction in cash payments, with only just more than ten per cent of bridge users paying by cash in 2022.
The end of the current tolling contract, reduced support for the maintenance of the coin baskets and the phasing out of coin sorters has also led to the decision to go card-only according to bridge bosses.
Bridge master Trish Johnson said: βBridge users are increasingly preferring to pay by card. Itβs quicker for the driver, and if using a bridge card, saves them money.
βThe change to card-only will also make our processes more efficient by removing cash and reducing the amount of downtime for maintenance of what is now outdated machinery.β
If drivers are unable to pay by card, a bridge card can be purchased online which can be topped up both online and by phone. β

Sadly, facial recognition cameras have been in supermarkets for quite some time. Thatβs why you should in particular boycott self service tills with cameras above. These cameras are highly unlikely to βnot be recording you or storing the dataβ and will be used to form your social credit score linked to programmable money.
