*Bridge Collapses As Loaded Dumper Passes Over in Kokernag*

Anantnag, Jul 3 (GNS): A bridge in Wangam Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag collapsed after a loaded dumper was passing over it this afternoon.

Reports reaching GNS said that a dumper laden with stone crusher led to the collapse. There was however no loss of life or injury in the incident.

Soon after the incident, the authorities declared the bridge unsafe for vehicular traffic.

As learnt by GNS, the authorities have urged drivers and travelers to opt for alternate link road passing through Kokernag to Bypass of Wangam area. (GNS)

*NC & PDP Want Their Traditional Family Rule to Persist In J&K: President Dr. Mustafa*

Srinagar, July 3 (GNS): The lesser known political party Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) Sunday announced to have parted their association from Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).

President JKPM, Dr. Mustafa Khan while talking to GNS said that JKPM was being used just as a tool with the Gupkar alliance however having no clear road map. The alliance, Khan said, is left of only National Conference and PDP, who, he asserted, want their traditional family rule to persist in Jammu and Kashmir.

“We reached out to almost every single member of PAGD and demanded a clear-cut road map, which till date we never got,” said Dr. Mustafa, adding, “the alliance was formed to fight collectively for restoration of the snatched identity of J&K and for the aspirations of youth and development of J&K but unfortunately the PAGD has no clear road map. All they (NC & PDP) want is their family rule to persist in J&K.”

He asserted that there was no PAGD’s lawyer in Supreme Court to contend the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A. “We don't want JKPM to be part of any political conspiracy in future against people of J&K that's why JKPM has decided to leave the PAGD”, Khan said.
He went on to explain that there have been instances when both the parties (PDP and NC) first fought elections against BJP and later on remained allies with them when in power. “This only shows that they have not maintained a clear stand in the past and it is evident as of now also”, he said.

Asking about the future plans, Dr. Mustafa said that future strategy of the party will be announced at the appropriate time anytime soon.

Notably, PAGD, a conglomerate of different political parties in Kashmir was formed after August 05, 2019 to oppose the Centre's decision on abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to the erstwhile state (now a Union Territory).(GNS)
*Cop Shot at, injured by Militants in Bijbhera*

Srinagar, July 03:(GNS) A policeman was shot at and injured by militants on Sunday in Bewoora Bijbhera area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A top police officer told GNS, that militants fired upon a cop in Bijbehara. He recieved bullet wound and was subsequently shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.

He has recieved bullet wound in his leg and his condition is stated to be stable so far. He has been identified as Firdous Ahmad the officerd added.

Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.(GNS)
*Motorcyclist, Pillion Rider Killed in Kupwara Road Accident*

Kupwara, Jul 4 (GNS): A motorcyclist and his pillion rider was killed in a road mishap in Lolab area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday afternoon.

A police official told GNS that a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01AB 3829 was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Rednag of Lolab area, resulting in critical injuries to the motorcyclist and his pillion rider. "The duo was taken to a nearby health facility, where both of them were declared as brought dead on arrival", the official said.

The official in the meantime identified the deceased duo as Adil Ahmad Shah son of Nisaar Ahmad Shah and Rashid Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Hassan Shah, both residents of Baba Hayatpora Lolab.

"We have registered a case into the incident for further investigations", the official added. (GNS)
*6-Year-Old Boy Dies Of Electric Shock In Anantnag*

Srinagar, 4 July (GNS): In a tragic incident, a 6-year-old boy died of electrocution at his home in Nagam Kokernag area of South Kashmir's Anantnsg district on Monday.

Reports reaching to GNS said that the boy identified as Kifiyat Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat of Nagam Kokernag received electric shock at his home and he was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Kokernag by his family members. However, doctor at the hospital declared him as brought dead on arrival.

BMO Kokernag Gowher Ali confirmed death of the minor. A police official told GNS that cognizance of the incident has been taken. (GNS)
