norse pagan promises are identical to earthly vices as well. gluttony, killing, lust. but christian beatific vision? purely intellectual and spiritual. it trascends earthly vices. can't really bribe folks with contemplation of the divine essence. it's not something biological. confucianism doesn't seem to promise anything at all just to mention it

the original judaism (torah only) promised nothing at all in heaven like confucianism. Rabbinic judaism that showed up later split up with folk/pharisees type: physical rewards such as feasting on the leviathan meat (yummers), and maimonides type: same stuff like Christianity

Protestant and Catholic relatives in the north of Ireland were killing each other too. It kinda always is about affiliation and childish who is better, and eye for an eye in these cases. Catholics burned Orthodox priests alive too but that's another story
