What if the world is generally fucking poor because all the money is genuinely in the money of very few, so actualizations of material things on national scales like navies, monuments, a nuclear war and i don't know what else are just not feasible. Is this a retarded take?

Money is a stand in for goods and services, but it isnt a direct replacement, since its actually paper+linen (and more recently literally just nunbers on a screen).

As a result of an overfinancialized economy and printing the world fiat currency, america has placeboed itself into a situation where it has more money than ever, and it is exchangeable for goods from other nations (because dollar), but it doesnt in any way represent the output of goods and services from the actual nation.

This represents a huge problem for the government when it wants to actually make something domestically and at scale. Suddenly you find that building a new production line of basic shit like artillery shells costs ten times what other nations pay for it because america is so deindustrialized, and expectations of pay are so high.

Conversely, other nations have to measure their currency against the dollar and are at a massive disadvantage because it's the world fiat. To acquire globally accepted currency they therefore have to / accept a much lower rate of return on their own goods in the foreign markets.

Add in the fact that energy is getting more expensive, much of the worlds labour force is moving onto digital products as if thats a substitute for food or shelter or what have you, and you've got yourself a problem
