🏴❌🇸🇴 — Islamic State weekly newspaper released information on their operations confronting the Puntland Defense Forces against their stronghold in the Bari mountains.

➡️On the 10th of January, IS fighters targeted several vehicles of the PDF near the town of Hopto, in the Qandala area of the Bari mountains with RPGs with led to the destruction of a vehicle and the damage of 2 others, along with some injuries among PDF soldiers.

➡️ On the 13th of January, IS fighters booby-trapped a cave near the town of Bili Taddan in the Abaarac mountains and blew it up as PDF soldiers entered it, which killed and injured at least 5 soldiers.

➡️2 IS fighters stayed back to detonate the IEDs in the cave and engage PDF soldiers, which they did and returned to their positions with a rifle taken from a dead PDF soldier.

➡️On the 15th of January, IS fighters targeted a truck belonging to the PDF with RPGs in the Abaarac mountains in the Qandala area, carrying ammunition to the troops, which led to the destruction of the truck, another vehicle was targeted the same way which led to the injury of 3 soldiers.

➡️IS also denied the PDF claims of 20 of its fighters killed in battles, and announces the killing of one of its militants, which corroborates with the image released by the PDF showing a single body.

🇸🇴❌🏴 — Jibril Qoobey, a pro-PDF journalist released information on offensive against the Islamic State in the Bari mountains so far as of the 16th January 2025.

➡️ 14 IEDs detonated, 38 drones downed and 53 IS fighters killed.

➡️130km2 of territory cleared up, with about half of that still under IS control, and 48 sites captured (including IED and weapon manufacturing facilities and training camps)

➡️ 70 PDF soldiers injured, with 10 of them sent abroad due to critical injuries, and 23 soldiers killed, 5 military vehicles belonging to the PDF were destroyed as well.

➡️About 5,200 PDF soldiers are participating in the operation, against an estimate of under 1,000 IS fighters.
