I will be dropping some exclusive (kinda) information on my blog on Tuesday (IST).
Yeah, I have a blog as well which is abandoned since 2020 and now is a good time to start it again because not everyone uses telegram, so my blog will be the other source of information/features which I find. I abandoned Twitter (π©), so news websites which covers the information which I share can link directly to my blog if I post there). Will keep posting on telegram as well. π₯³

#AndroidXR
Google Play Store and Google Play Services code reveals some bits about the Android XR platform. This also means the Android powered XR Platform may be somewhat ready but not enough to compete with Apple's Vision Pro.
Read about it on my blog, can't post on telegram as it's long and will break it into multiple parts which I don't really want. (Ignore old blog posts as they are 2 years old and kinda outdated, also no dark theme :p)

#PlayStore
Just playing with flags of Play Store. This UI is intended for Tablets/Foldable devices (already available, nothing new) but if enabled on Phone, it may look ugly in portrait but looks pretty fine in landscape.
Can not be enabled fully with the GappsMod app, because you need to change an integer value in the database which is not possible with the GappsMod app for now.

Emoji reactions coming to Gmail on Android
A week ago Steve Moser revealed that Google was working on Emoji reactions for Gmail on iOS. They are coming to Gmail on Android as well and works the same way as it would in iOS.
There are predefined emoji reactions "ππππππ" but Google will allow to choose other emoji's as well. While I am sure Google will allow reacting directly from the Email screen, you would be able to react by choosing emoji reactions option from the overflow menu (three dots) as well.
Restrictions -
β’ You received this via BCC, so you can't react with an emoji
β’ You can't react with an emoji to this encrypted message
β’ You can't react with an emoji to a large group
β’ You can't react with an emoji more than (number) times."
"You're among the first Gmail users to get an emoji reaction. Soon you'll be able to send emoji reactions yourself."
Read it on my blog

When you don't bother to read the linked article and check the author's name, this happens. Multiple sources? I @assembleDebug own TheSpAndroid blog.
Also no backlinks to the origin of content i.e. my blog or this channel . Because everyone likes to backlink 9to5google (which surprised me by giving a backlink to the blog, wasn't expecting it).

Yes, reminders.

#GoogleDrive
Google worked on adding the Privacy Screen feature in the Google Drive app on Android but never rolled it out. They rolled out it on iOS in 2020. Privacy Screen is just an app lock feature, so you have to authenticate with pin/password/fingerprint before you can open Google drive app.
The added code is kinda old and I checked the Drive APK from mid 2022 and the code was there. So I didn't bother to check more APKs. The code is still present in the newer APKs which is interesting. I think the feature is being used internally or something!! Bcz they didn't cleanup the code if it was not supposed to be released.
There are two activities related to the privacy screen but opening them crashes the Drive app.
And also, a new feature may pop up in Google drive named Smart Categories. There is not much information about it and even enabling the flags doesn't do anything. Maybe some Google Workspace only crap.

#GoogleFiles
Google files getting a new "Smart Search" feature and Settings UI improvement.
This feature will make it easier to find contents/files in your storage. As I have tested the feature, In the previous version, searching with the word "apk" didn't show any result. But with Smart Search functionality it will list all files with apk/apks extensions.
(Update : I was wrong about this thing. Smart search feature is related to automatic scanning of Documents and Images files only. It is related to "Documents" tab)
Settings screen is also getting some minor tweaks. The settings are better categorised now.
Also the Naagrik/Digilocker/Document thing is ready for the launch and it will automatically scan your storage to find documents (listing screenshots as document is weird though π«£). There are new illustrations as well.
Ohh... And the "Smart Search" feature is active by default for me. No flags needed.
