In South Africa, where the new strain was first detected, deaths are also declining the last few weeks, and down 95% from January highs. First hand experience of catching Omicron this week: Shivers, Muscle Pain, Weakness, Fever (not high), Headache, Nausea. Painful at the beginning (first 2 hours), but i would classify as mild overall (milder than a flu).
After 5hrs, all my symptoms were gone, as if nothing ever happened, with the exception of eating 2x the usual.
Im am a young adult, no-vax, who very rarely gets sick. I believe this variant to be extremely mild, and highly contagious; first hand experience confirms many have already caught it, and most will be exposed by the end of the year. Out of all the people I know who caught it this week, everyone had mild symptoms and everyone is fine. @Forecast432Hz
