It's shocking to learn how little our election officials know the law, and how often they misrepresent it.

When communicating with your officials, I encourage you to hold parallel discussions in writing, especially when they make legal assertions.

Then, research legal claims and print the statutes which expose their ignorance.

Most clerks are "hypnotized," and merely regurgitate what they are told.

Take them to task. Get it in writing.

"Playing Chess and Brain Surgery"

People often contact me asking for advice how to fix their elections, especially right before meeting with their election officials. It is very frustrating.

I've been developing responses...

First, I ask them if they've read my Seven Steps. (Of course they haven't, or they wouldn't be asking this question.)

Then, I try to explain the situation by analogy...

"Dr Frank, I'm playing an important chess tournament tomorrow. Any pointers? And by the way, will you teach me how to play chess?"

It takes years of experience to play competitive chess.

Or...

"Dr Frank, I need to perform brain surgery on my spouse tonight. Any pointers?"

Please invite the surgeon.

There is so much more to this than can be relayed effectively and efficiently remotely.

People don't understand the situation and they want the quick fix. There isn't one. It takes strategy, work, and commitment. It has taken us decades to get into this mess, and it requires a complete revision of mindset to address it.
