“Empathy”
Sometimes, I am so focused on what I am doing that I forget to consider the feelings of others. But I am working on it.
I poignantly learned this lesson about twenty-five years ago at a school faculty Christmas party. I had brought one-year old Nellie with me, all dressed up cute with bows in her hair.
At one point I needed to use the restroom, and so I handed Nellie to a fellow female faculty member. Who wouldn’t want to hold a cute, giggly, cooing little girl?
When I returned, the woman was white as a ghost, holding Nellie slightly apart from her. At first, I wondered if Nellie needed a diaper change.
As it turns out, unknown to me, the year prior my colleague had aborted her child that had been diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Ouch.
It’s almost as bad as congratulating a woman for being pregnant when she’s not. Most boys learn that humiliating lesson early. And yep, I’ve learned that one too.
My mother (may she rest in peace) often coached me in this regard. But it is one of those lessons I’ve had to learn the hard way.
I think people forgive me for my shortcomings and mistakes when they know my heart, but I’m still responsible to be considerate of others.
Empathy is a powerful thing, and nurturing it in ourselves makes us more like Jesus Christ:
“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves, which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2)

"The Polar Bears are Just Fine"
As a real scientist, it is embarrassing to see "science" abused.
I've been saying for decades that climate change agendas are built upon false assumptions, despite the ridiculous and unscientific claims constantly being foisted upon an uninformed public.
The polar bears are doing just fine.

15 years after ESA listing as ‘threatened’ due to sea ice loss polar bears are abundant & thriving
Experts who used the American Endangered Species Act (ESA) to list polar bears as ‘threatened’ in May 2008 were mistaken: sea ice authorities got their predictions wrong about future ic…

"Wyoming"
Having a productive tour through about a dozen counties in Wyoming!
Until last night, officials from each county have been attending the daily public and private meetings. I am excited about the grassroots prospects here.
In Uinta County, the close-minded clerk was angry that I was in town, and discouraged the county Commissioners from attending. The sheriff and his deputy attended, and seemed like straight up fellows.
I think the citizens of Uinta ought to replace their clerk.

"Your County Clerk"
Your county clerk performs many important functions, often including counting the votes that gets them elected.
It is an extremely important office.
If you can't trust them, then you need to replace them immediately.
Don't wait for an election.
There are several ways to remove them.

"Climate Change Update"
Each month I post Dr Spencer's average global temperature graph for the lower atmosphere. It is the ENTIRE satellite record, because we only put them up there in 1979.
This is the precise portion of the atmosphere where human caused effects were supposed to be observed. Clearly, nothing has materialized yet. Instead, we see continuation of the same 1.3C per hundred year natural trend since the little ice age.

"Excess Deaths Not Due to Covid"
I was not happy with the visualization provided by the CDC which illustrates US weekly deaths, so I made my own graph.
I also bring attention to higher-than-normal deaths NOT attributed to Covid-19 (red shaded areas).
The graph is based upon CDC data, so the last several weeks are likely to change.
Currently, only about half of the higher-than-normal deaths are due to Covid-19, supporting concerns that there are other causes in effect.
