When this UK ban becomes law, it will require age verification for everyone over 16 to ensure under 16s can’t access social media. That means all social media users would need to prove their age by uploading an ID (passport/drivers licence) and biometric data - all under the guise of protecting children.

Unless we stop this, we are being steered toward a forced choice: comply, or be pushed offline and silenced... again. And make no mistake, silence is the objective. If dissent cannot speak, it cannot spread. If it cannot spread, it cannot organise. That is not an accident; it is the design.

Some will say, "Just leave the system. Join a community. Become self-sustaining." That sounds comforting, but it is temporary, and it is naïve. You really think opting out makes you invisible? That power structures politely stop at the edge of a commune? History shows the opposite. Withdrawal does not equal freedom when control keeps expanding. Believing otherwise is wishful thinking, not strategy.

So ask yourselves; how do we organise, mobilise, and resist without communication at scale? Those who were active in 2020 already felt this. We’ve lived it. When accounts were suspended, pages wiped, reach throttled for weeks or months, momentum died. Networks fractured. Messages stalled...

This isn’t hypothetical. Digital gatekeeping is already normalised. Company directors. Benefits claimants. OneLogin. Centralised access. Centralised compliance by stealth, coercion and exclusion.

Now this under 16's ban means digital ID checks for anyone wanting to keep social media. The pattern is clear if you’re willing to look at it.

The fight is not about 'living online.' But it’s about losing the ability to speak to one another at scale. Social media is not freedom... but it is a tool. And tools matter in asymmetrical fights - where the two sides do not have equal 'power', resources, or tools. You don’t win by discarding these tools out of principle while your opponent controls every other channel.

In my view, the answer isn’t retreat. It’s leverage. Use social media deliberately, strategically and without worshipping it... but without surrendering it either. Because once that space is gone, getting it back won’t be an option.

This is the moment where pretending it doesn’t matter becomes the biggest risk of all.

We must resist this ban - it's the prelude to digital ID for all.

They didn’t scrap Digital ID. Starmer didn't 'U-turn'. One symbol was sacrificed so the system could advance quietly. While attention drifts, the infrastructure is being built. Resistance worked... that’s why they're trying to 'manage' it & placate you.

An amendment has just been approved by the House of Lords under the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

Age checks won’t be optional. Everyone 16+ will be required to provide digital verification and biometrics to use social media and the internet. Digital ID by stealth.

Don’t be fooled... this is full steam ahead.

Since then, the government has simply softened its language. Keir Starmer has said that no single credential will be mandated for right-to-work and right-to-rent checks. That announcement has been widely misinterpreted.

Digital ID has not been scrapped. The planned checks themselves remain mandatory and digital, carried out via One Login. Nothing fundamental has changed.

What has been removed, allegedly, is the requirement for one specific credential to sit in the UK Government Wallet — not the system itself.

One Login is the foundation of the entire digital architecture. It is the planned compulsory entry point through which individuals will be required to prove their identity and share biometric data in order to access core functions: passports, driving licences, tax, benefits, company directorships, and right-to-work and right-to-rent checks. This is already in force for company directors as of 18th November 2025.

The next layer of the stack is the Government Wallet, which will host digital credentials and tokens. It is already being trialled through the veterans card and the digital driving licence. The proposed 'BritCard' (a red herring) was never the whole project; it was one token among many. The wallet itself is the infrastructure — an app-of-apps built on mandatory digital identity verification and tokenisation of everything and everyone, including your money... soon to be digital and programmable.

Nothing has been abandoned. The system remains digital, biometric, and soon to be entirely compulsory/mandatory/legal requirement. The enforcement mechanisms are obvious even now: age verification for social media when the under-16s ban comes in, restrictions on under-18 VPN use, and access to work, housing, and public services all depend on digital proof of identity.

What has changed is the presentation, not the direction of travel. The announcement was simply to placate the resistance and have you believe the entire infrastructure has been scrapped.
