My car is a F24/M25 and the Volkswagen is a F25/M26
The fiat pulse F25/M26 is a semi hybrid BUT that doesn't change a lot (even that some people say that the eletric motor changes the consumption and I don't believe it)
It's the big dog from fiat vs the dog with anaemia from Volkswagen

The consumption on the Tera is really good but it's too slow
The consumption on the Pulse is terrible but it doesn't let you down like the Volkswagen does

Both of them claim to be a SUV but this is clearly a lifted hatchback or a medium hatchback
