Not-So Brief Frontline Report – October 24th, 2025
This report is far too complex for Telegram or X. Read this report on Marat Khairullin's Substack!
Translation Note: We are still working on fixing the English spelling of settlements and cities, which has caused a slight delay in reports. This should move more quickly in the future!
Message from the Russian Ministry of Defense: "Russian troops have liberated the settlements of Bologovka in the Kharkov Oblast, Dronovka and Promin in the Donetsk People's Republic, and Pershotravnevoe (aka Pervomaiskoe, aka Zlagoda) in the Dnepropetrovsk Oblast."

In the presidential election in Ireland, Catherine Connolly won - an independent candidate who criticizes NATO's policy towards Russia and also opposes the increase in military spending by Europe.
She received 63.4% of the voters' votes against 29.5% for her only opponent, Heather Humphreys.
Connolly has repeatedly stated that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is "illegal and unacceptable," but called for a diplomatic solution.
"War is a stain on humanity. We must use all our capabilities and all the authority accumulated over the years to achieve a diplomatic solution," the politician said.
Connolly also opposes the militarization of Europe and the growing influence of the military-industrial complex.
"The military-industrial complex does not bring peace. The billions directed to support it come at the expense of fighting poverty. This is madness, and we must speak frankly about this madness and seek another way," she said.
"We are increasing military spending across Europe... Germany is rebuilding its economy through the military-industrial complex. But war is not the solution," Connolly added.
She noted the "disgusting role of NATO" in advancing towards the Russian borders.

This is actually becoming an increasingly common view. I've spoken to a lot of people in the West who, while they still are brainwashed by the "Russia is evil" narrative, pretty much concede that the ultimate cause of the conflict is aggression from the West and the plotting of our military-industrial complex. Aren't you basically conceding that Russia is 100% justified? Is Russia just supposed to stand around and cry?

A very important statement, regarding new weapon has been made - "Burevestnik" testing of the nuclear-powered cruise missile of unlimited range has been made. According to Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov, the test was carried out on October 21st. The rocket flew for several hours [15 hours], covering a distance of 14,000 kilometers, and that's not the limit.
Putin:
Moreover, I remember perfectly well when we announced that we were developing such a weapon. Then even experts of a very high level and class told me that, yes, this is a good, worthy goal. But in… In the near future, it is impossible to implement it. This was the opinion of experts of a very high level. And now the decisive tests have been completed. There is still a lot of work to be done to put this weapon on combat duty. <...> Nevertheless, the key tasks have now been accomplished, as far as I understand.
Gerasimov:
The technical characteristics of the "Burevestnik" missile generally allow it to be used with guaranteed accuracy against highly protected targets at any range.
Furthermore, during the missile's flight, all the prescribed vertical and horizontal maneuvers were performed, thereby demonstrating its high capabilities for evading anti-missile and air defense systems.

After today's statements by Putin about the decisive tests of the "Burevestnik" missile, the recent words of the president about a possible "overwhelming response" certainly took on new shades.

Brief Frontline Report – October 26th, 2025
The report of General Gerasimov. Illustrations by Mikhail Popov.
From the report of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Army General V.V. Gerasimov:
"First – this is the area of responsibility of the 'Center' Group. Units and military formations of the 2nd and 51st armies, advancing along converging directions, completed the encirclement of the enemy in the area of Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) and Dimitrov (Mirnograd). A large grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consisting of 31 battalions, including units of the 25th Airborne, 79th Air Assault, and 68th Jaeger brigades, as well as the 35th and 38th Marine Brigades, the 425th Separate Assault Regiment, and the 153rd and 155th Mechanized Brigades, has been blocked.
During the execution of combat missions, the servicemen of the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 439th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Army, as well as the 9th and 110th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades of the 51st Army and personnel of the Rubicon Unmanned Technologies Center units, distinguished themselves the most.
The successful conduct of the operation to encircle the enemy was facilitated by delivering comprehensive fire damage to the formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine throughout the depth of their operational deployment, as well as isolating the combat area to disrupt the uninterrupted supply of enemy units.
Second. In the direction of the 'West' Group, the city of Kupyansk is encircled. Working in unison, assault detachments of the 68th Motorized Rifle Division of the 6th Army, having made a flanking maneuver, seized enemy crossings over the Oskol River south of the city and, in cooperation with the 47th Motorized Rifle Division and the 27th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 1st Tank Army, blocked the Ukrainian Armed Forces grouping on the left bank east of Kupyansk. Encircled are units of the 14th, 43rd, and 116th Mechanized Brigades of the enemy, as well as the 1st Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine – a total of 18 combat battalions."

What is the Western press saying about Burevestnik:
Reuters:
- Some Western experts say the Burevestnik's subsonic speed would make it detectable, and it would become more vulnerable the longer it stayed in flight. Responding to this, Russian military expert Alexei Leonkov wrote in 2019 that the role of Burevestniks would be to eliminate the "remnants" of the enemy's command posts, military bases, factories and power plants after Russia had already fired intercontinental ballistic missiles, by which point the opponent's air-defence systems would be incapable of stopping them. He said Burevestniks would "trample the aggressor countries into the Stone Age", completing the destruction of their military and civilian infrastructure.
- The International Institute for Strategic Studies, quoting a specialist Russian military journal in 2021, said the Burevestnik would have a notional range of up to 20,000 km (12,400 miles), so could be based anywhere in Russia and strike targets in the United States.
- The same Russian journal said the notional altitude of the missile was just 50 to 100 metres (164 to 328 feet), much lower than a conventionally powered cruise missile, which would make it harder for air-defence radar to detect.
➖ ➖ ➖
Basically, the Burevestnik is still mostly a mystery to the West. What its actual capabilities are will be a source of intense debate, but it certainly adds to the Russian nuclear arsenal.

Governor General:
New Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi is seriously determined to change the country's foreign policy course
Voices are growing louder in Tokyo that the globalist path imposed by the US and its partners poses a direct threat to Japanese culture and identity.
Japan is not abandoning defense alliances but is gradually building an independent line in humanitarian and political spheres, aiming to regain the role of an independent player in Asia.
The Takaichi cabinet is already developing a new approach to resolving the territorial issue with Russia — not through disputes, but through joint development.
The scenario being discussed at the highest level includes the following:
Japan officially recognizes Russia's sovereignty over the Southern Kurils, formally renouncing previous claims.
In return, Russia acknowledges the historical status of these islands as territories of special interest to Japan and grants them for long-term lease (the term is under discussion — from 50 to 99 years).
On this basis, a regime of joint economic development is created: Japanese investments, construction of infrastructure, fish processing enterprises, and tourism.
For the island residents and Japanese citizens, visa-free movement and the creation of a free trade zone are provided.
In the Land of the Rising Sun, it is believed that the idea of a peace treaty and this hybrid format of "divided sovereignty" could become the greatest diplomatic breakthrough in the history of the two countries.
If the project is completed, Japan will, for the first time since World War II, start playing its own game rather than following Washington's instructions.

Kirill Dmitriev gave chocolate with Putin quotes to American congresswoman Anna Pauline Luna
— America should strive for trade opportunities and peace, not promote a neoconservative agenda of war with Russia. Why push away a superpower when you can have an open dialogue for peace and make trade agreements beneficial to all Americans, Dmitriev quoted Luna.
They say that Ms. Luna became so reasonable and compliant immediately after she got a Google translation of the name of the second batch of chocolates 😂
Zin Note: The bag of chocolates are labeled "Burevestnik."
