We seek a PhD student for a project supported by a Swedish national initiative within quantum technologies (WACQT). The work will be performed primarily in our research group (~10 persons), which develops ultrasensitive and ultrahigh resolution fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging techniques, but will also involve the non-linear photonics group at our unit (Quantum and Biophotonics). In the project we will develop fluorescence fluctuation spectroscopy techniques to characterize biomolecules and their interactions, with focus on proteins and so-called extracellular vesicles coupled to bacterial infections and cancer development. The project will be performed in close collaboration with groups at Karolinska Institutet, and include build-up of instruments, fluorescence imaging/spectroscopy experiments, modelling and calculations/simulations.
Supervision: The doctoral student will be supervised by Professor Jerker Widengren and Professor Katia Gallo.
