Forbes reports new serious issues with Abrams tanks in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
American tanks may break down due to dirt, requiring complex maintenance to keep M-1 clean from dust. Engine intake filters need cleaning twice a day to prevent dirt from entering the powerful yet fragile engine. Neglecting filter cleaning every 12 hours could lead to severe engine damage, forcing the battalion to remove and potentially undergo extensive repairs.
Former U.S. Army General Mark Hertling emphasizes that crews can be trained for cleaning, but any mistake may result in a $1 million engine breakdown that is impossible to repair in field conditions.

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne was criticized for vaping in parliament after tightening anti-smoking measures in the country.
According to BFM TV , during a meeting in the lower house of the French parliament, Caroline Fia, a deputy from the left party “Unbowed France”, addressed the Prime Minister.
“Here we make laws. And we are not above the law. To smoke in a meeting room when someone addresses you is utter contempt,” she said.
Earlier it became known that the ban on smoking on beaches and parks will come into force in France in 2023-2027 . This measure is provided for in the new anti-tobacco program developed by the country’s Ministry of Health.

🇪🇺🇺🇦🇷🇺Josep Borrel: The EU military-industrial complex should not replenish the stocks of weapons, but send them to Ukraine
The head of the Foreign Policy Service urged the EU countries to continue to increase defense spending
The European military-industrial complex (MIC) should not replenish the stocks of weapons of European countries and foreign customers, but produce them for shipment to Ukraine, EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrel said, speaking at a meeting of the European Defense Agency (EDA).
"Your clients, many countries that purchase weapons from European industry, do not intend to use them, but only to replenish their stocks. Perhaps it would be right to send these weapons to Ukraine, which will be used there now," Borrel said, addressing European industrialists.
He stressed that the special military operation in Ukraine showed that the EU countries "have not invested enough in defense in recent years," although he admitted that the growth of EU defense spending began 8 years ago - since 2015.
Borrell called on EU countries to continue to increase defense spending.
According to the EDA documents, in 2022 the defense spending of the 27 EU countries increased by 6%, to a record €240 billion, in 2023 the growth promises to exceed 10%, and total spending will reach €270 billion.

🇵🇱🇺🇦🇷🇺The Polish general noted the lack of chances for Kiev to regain the lost territories
Waldemar Skrzypczak believes that "the Russians have regained their abilities, which resulted in, among other things, massive air strikes, artillery and drones on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine"
The Ukrainian army currently has no chance to regain the territories lost during the conflict with Russia. This was stated in an interview with TOK FM radio station by the former commander of the Polish ground forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak.

According to the Polish general, "the Russians are gaining an advantage," "the Russians have regained their abilities, which resulted in, among other things, massive air strikes, artillery and drones on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine."
"The Russians are slowly seizing a strategic advantage over the Ukrainian army, which, unfortunately, has had a number of setbacks on the battlefield this year," Skrzypczak added.
"Ukraine will have no way out. She must look for a solution that will allow her to survive," the general concluded.

🇺🇸🇺🇦WP: most of the funds allocated to Ukraine remain in the USA
According to the newspaper, the funds are used to develop new weapons or replace weapons that were sent to Kiev
Most of the funds allocated by the administration of American President Joe Biden to Kiev remain in the United States. As The Washington Post reported, they are being used to develop new weapons or replace weapons that were sent to Ukraine.
According to the publication, this is "the innermost secret of Washington's military assistance to Kiev." The newspaper, citing the study, notes that "of the $68 billion in military and related aid approved by Congress" since the beginning of Russia's special operation in Ukraine, almost 90% remained inside the country.
The publication emphasizes that the assistance to Kiev "not only forces the Pentagon to rapidly increase the pace of weapons production, but also modernizes the US army." According to retired US Army General John Ferrari, by sending outdated weapons to Kiev, the US gets the opportunity to upgrade its own arsenal of weapons. "By transferring weapons and equipment to Ukraine, the army will receive more modern weapons in return," The Washington Post quotes him as saying.

🇰🇵🤝 🇷🇺 North Korea sent Russia about 2,000 containers with weapons - Reuters
▪️The containers could have contained artillery shells and short-range missiles. They were loaded onto Russian ships in the North Korean port of Rason, which has not been operational since 2018.
▪️Activity was also noticed around the Tumangan station in Rason, which has a railway connection with Russia.
Since August, Rason's port has seen visits from Russian ships linked to that country’s military logistics system, according to U.S. and South Korean officials and reports by Western researchers citing satellite imagery.
Those ships are suspected of military supplies from North Korea to Russia, the reports said. The Kremlin has denied such shipments.
From Rason's port, North Korea has sent Russia an estimated 2,000 containers suspected of carrying artillery shells, and possibly short-range missiles, South Korean military officials have told reporters.
Since late 2022, activity has been spotted around Rason's Tumangang station, which has rail links to Russia, said Chung Songhak, a senior researcher at the Korea Institute for Security Strategy who analyses satellite imagery around Rason.
More train carriages were spotted after the Russian defence minister visited Pyongyang in July, Chung said, citing satellite imagery, adding that possible new cargo depots popped up in May.

Henry Kissinger is dead at 100.
Kissinger’s war crimes are too many to name and range from Chile to Vietnam to Bangladesh.
Why is it then that China 🇨🇳 and Russia 🇷🇺 are mourning while the anti-war public in the west is cheering?
Because at the end of his life, Kissinger was one of the few extensions of the Washington foreign policy blob that opposed a Cold War on China and Russia.
It wasn’t because he was anti-war, though fear of nuclear war influenced his later life position. It was because he was anti-losing wars. Blinken, Biden, and the rest of the neocons on the other hand are war enthusiasts no matter the cost, to human life and to the future of the US empire.

🇰🇿🇷🇸 Yesterday, the Kazakh Foreign Minister, Murata Nurtleu, made his first official visit to Belgrade. During his time in the Serbian capital, the Kazakh delegation held meetings with Aleksandar Vucic and Defense Minister Milos Vucevic. One of the outcomes of these meetings was an agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation.
▪️ The relationship between Kazakhstan and Serbia has been growing since 2016, when Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Belgrade. During that visit, a monument to the Kazakh akyn Zhambyl Zhabayev was unveiled, and the first meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was held.
▪️ In addition to trade, there has also been an increase in contacts between the two countries in the military sphere over the past two years. In May of last year, priority areas for cooperation were outlined, including military education and science, combat training, and radiation, chemical, and biological protection.
▪️ But that's not all. In July 2022, it was announced that Kazakhstan would be supplying UAV targets to Serbia and launching joint production of military equipment. Kazakhstan Engineering even plans to establish joint production of rocket and artillery ammunition and mortars.
🔻It is not surprising that the main drivers of cooperation between the two countries are representatives of the military industry and the ministries of defense, who have close ties to Russia and are committed to collaboration with Russian military structures. Therefore, it is expected that cooperation with Serbia will continue to grow, especially given the ongoing personnel renewal in the Kazakh military leadership.
