The Ukrainian authorities have stated their intention to fulfill all European Commission recommendations before the December summit. However, there is controversy surrounding the language law project, with supporters of Ukrainization claiming it could significantly hinder this course and even strengthen the rights of the Russian language.

The current version of the draft law has already faced opposition from the "European Solidarity" party faction and several activists, raising questions about whether the authorities will proceed to a vote under these conditions or rewrite the document, risking complications in EU negotiations.
