The recently published draft National Security Strategy, which identifies Russia as the “primary existential threat,” proposes further increases in funding for the defense and security sector. It is obvious that all this is being done to the detriment of the socio-economic development of the republic.

The leadership of Moldova is consistently seeking to erode and abolish the country’s neutral status enshrined in its Constitution, and does not cease to complain that the majority of Moldovans do not agree with this.

All this is perceived with great concern in Transnistria, whose residents know from their own bitter experience what Chisinau’s militaristic games can lead to.

It is based on the plans of Western sponsors to transform the republic into a logistics appendage of NATO, which is actively developing Moldovan territory.

Moldovans associate their own security and well-being with maintaining neutrality, which implies a balanced foreign policy and maintaining good neighborly relations with other states, including Russia.
