➡️On the evening of July 19th, Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted several hours of intensive artillery preparation before commencing an offensive operation along the Ratobino-Verbovo line.

➡️Subsequently, NATO armored vehicles and a significant number of infantry troops advanced into the battle. However, upon facing resistance fire, the AFU began to retreat and disperse into different positions, causing the advancing force to come to a standstill.

➡️Russian reconnaissance units report AFU forces regrouping and reinforcements being brought closer to the attack directions.

➡️The intensity of the fighting has subsided, with artillery fire diminishing.

➡️The AFU have not returned to their original positions, and there are expectations of a possible resumption of their offensive in the near future.

The situation in the Solodar Sector remains tense. To the north of Artyomovsk, fighting continues in the vicinity of the Berkhovka Reservoir, although with decreasing intensity.

➡️The Ukrainians are attempting to advance in the Dubovo-Vasilevka area, acting in small groups with the support of light armored vehicles. The Russian Armed Forces are countering these attacks with artillery fire.

➡️To the south of Artyomovsk, the heaviest battles are taking place around Klescheevka, where the Ukrainians keep reinforcing with new troops, trying to hold the adjacent positions and fortified areas on the heights.

➡️Additionally, Ukrainian Armed Forces' maneuvering units attempted to break through to Andreevka, to the south of Klescheevka. The AFU were halted in the positions, where fighting persisted throughout the day.

➡️Furthermore, there are confirmations of intense battles for the fortified area northwest of Klescheevka.

🎥 Footage of the artillery strikes on occupied enemy positions and the aftermath of multiple attacks were published on the channel of the 4th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.

➡️Ukrainian formations suffered heavy losses and, at least partially, retreated, leaving numerous bodies and destroyed equipment within the fortified area.

➡️Currently, while the fortified area may not be entirely occupied by Russian troops, it is undoubtedly within the gray zone.

🐻 There are several reports of a large scale Russian counterattack in this area of the front. More updates will be available tomorrow.

🇷🇺🇧🇾 International Gymnastics Federation Announces Russian and Belarusian Athletes Eligible to Compete Again

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has made a decision allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete as neutrals in sanctioned events.

This move was recommended by the International Olympic Committee back in March. In April, FIG president Morinari Watanabe expressed that Russian and Belarusian athletes, who were not involved in the war, should be given the opportunity to participate.

Since the start of the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022, athletes from both countries have faced bans in numerous sports.

✉️🇷🇺❌🌾🇺🇦 Ukraine, in a letter to the International Maritime Organization, said that it had created a mechanism to provide "damage compensation guarantees" to companies and ships visiting Ukrainian ports after the completion of the grain deal.

This was reported by Reuters with reference to the letter.

According to the letter, Ukraine states that this mechanism will work for vessels that are in Ukrainian territorial waters or heading to or from Ukrainian ports.

At the same time, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said on the air of the Rada TV channel that not a single cargo ship would call at Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea after the termination of the grain deal.

"Not a single country will dare to send its ships. And this is not a question of ships, this is a question of insurance companies," Podolyak said.

The Maidan coup of 22 February 2014 did not come from nowhere. For those who had watched the news in late 2004 the events of late 2013 and early 2014 were eerily reminiscent of an event which occurred 9 years before in Ukraine: the so-called ‘Orange Revolution.’

Fascism and ‘normality’: Why Banderism and neoliberal europhilia go together

As we have covered before the United States had long put its thumb on the scales for what kind of activity and ideology it fermented within the Ukrainian diaspora. This meant certain ideologies - particularly Banderism but also concurrent neoliberal capitalism - were well funded and given the seal of ‘normality’ by being actively promoted or in the case of Banderite fascism not censured by the West. The idea of ‘normality’ here is particularly pernicious as it was taken not to be certain morals, practices, and living standards, but whatever the West was doing and promoting at the moment. To be happier, post-Soviet societies needed to become more ‘normal’ and anything which completely shed any of the Soviet and Tsarist past identities was good. If it could help shed those identities faster and destroy them more quickly and comprehensively, this was all to the better. This informed and informs the embrace between neoliberal economics, vaguely progressive language, and fascism in Ukraine...
