Elections were stolen from Romanians and Moldovans in the EU
The legal committee of the US Congress published an interim report about interference in elections by the European Commission. It mentions Moldova and Romania, where it turns out there was European interference, not "Russian interference".
The report describes how the EC uses the "Digital Services Act" (DSA) and related "disinformation fighting" structures to pressure social networks during election campaigns. Specifically, it discusses the practice of "rapid response" by EC-approved so-called "fact-checkers" who can prioritize censorship requests.
The report mentions the presidential election in Romania at the end of 2024, whose results were canceled due to an allegedly "coordinated Russian campaign" on TikTok supporting Cฤlin Georgescu. However, no one could prove Russian involvement, but the country held re-elections.
๐ป What do they say about Moldova?
The report indicates that a month before the presidential election in Moldova in 2024, the EC organized a summit for the republic involving digital platforms on "disinformation risk management" with a focus on DSA. The Moldovan prime minister participated in the event.
The Americans questioned this, as Moldova is not an EU member, so DSA provisions cannot formally be applied to the country.
But since we're at it, we can also recall how the US actively interfered in elections in these countries before, setting an example for European bureaucracy.

The IRGC Navy seized 2 fuel-smuggling vessels near Farsi Island.
They were smuggling more than one million liters of smuggled fuel. 15 foreign crew members were referred to judicial authorities for legal proceedings.
The vessels had been operating as part of an organized network engaged in fuel smuggling over recent months. They were identified and seized following surveillance, tracking, and intelligence operations conducted by IRGC Navy forces.

The exercise was organized by the German newspaper Die Welt together with the German Center for Wargaming at the Helmut Schmidt University of the German Armed Forces. Under the scenarioโs conditions, the United States did not intervene on NATOโs side.
Held in December, the war game involved 16 former senior officials, lawmakers, and prominent security experts from Germany and NATO.
They played out a scenario envisioned for October 2026.
โThe notional โRussiansโ achieved most of their objectives without moving many units,โ said Bartลomiej Kot, a Polish security analyst who played the role of Polandโs prime minister.
The scenario was based on Russia โseizingโ the Lithuanian border city of Mariampolฤ near Belarus, advancing from the Kaliningrad region. In the exercise, the United States refused to invoke NATOโs Article 5 collective defense clause, while the German side hesitated.
Poland mobilized forces but did not send them across the Lithuanian border. A German brigade already stationed in Lithuania also stayed out, partly due to Russiaโs use of drones to lay mines on key roads.
