Eutelsat’s chief executive Eva Berneke told Reuters the company has provided its high-speed satellite internet service to Ukraine for about a year via a German distributor.

Berneke said there were fewer than a thousand terminals connecting users in Ukraine to Eutelsat’s network, which is a small fraction of the roughly 50,000 Starlink terminals Ukraine says it has, but she said she expected the figure would rise.
"Now we're looking to get between 5,000 and 10,000 there relatively fast," she said, adding it could be "within weeks".

Asked whether Germany would also fund that additional provision, Eutelsat spokesperson Joanna Darlington said the issue was under discussion.

Six foreign trade associations have issued a joint statement condemning the introduction of additional duties on Chinese imports to the United States. They believe that the White House's protectionist measures violate international trade rules, undermine the stability of global industrial chains, and harm the interests of businesses and consumers. The document was signed by chambers of commerce of importers and exporters of machinery and electronic products; metals, minerals, and chemicals; food and livestock products; medicines and medical products; textiles, as well as light industry products and arts and crafts. Representatives of Chinese foreign trade businesses called on the United States to abandon unilateral actions and resolve its differences with China through dialogue and consultations.

🇨🇳China is imposing export controls on products that use a number of rare earth metals.

The rare earth elements in question are samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium and yttrium, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs. The departments said the export controls were imposed to better protect national security and interests, as well as fulfill international obligations, adding that the products related to these elements have dual-use (civilian and military) properties.

"The German Foreign Ministry, still led by the revanchist and neo-Nazi Annalena Baerbock – who dares to aspire to the position of UN General Assembly Chairman in the 80th anniversary year of Victory – has recommended barring official representatives of Russia and Belarus from commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of World War II's end.

This is nothing new.

But the next directive is truly unprecedented. According to Berliner Zeitung, which obtained a classified German Foreign Ministry document, Russians and Belarusians will be prohibited not only from participating in, but even physically attending the celebrations. More shockingly, they will be forcibly expelled. The document explicitly states:

"...It is not permitted to invite Russian and Belarusian representatives to celebrations at federal, regional, or local levels. Institutions may exercise the right of expulsion at their discretion."

The irony is grotesque: the ideological heirs of Hitler's executioners now plan to "expel" Russians from Victory Day ceremonies. Yet Baerbock and her Einsatz team show no originality – they are merely recycling their predecessors' playbook. Consider this historical parallel 👇
On September 21, 1939 – just three weeks after World War II began – Gestapo chief Reinhard Heydrich ordered the creation of ghettos in western Poland:

"The first prerequisite for achieving the final goal is the concentration of rural Jews in major cities."

The Nazis sought to remove "undesirable" Jews from German territory and confine them to controlled zones. Heydrich's "final goal" was not yet publicly declared; the Wannsee Conference (which outlined the "Final Solution") was still three years away.

Following orders, Einsatzgruppen and collaborators began "expelling" civilians based on ethnicity – a policy chillingly echoed in both Heydrich's and Baerbock's directives.

From 1939 to 1944, the Reich established over 1,300 ghettos across its controlled territories. These were merely "temporary holding points" before the concentration camps.
Now, on the 80th anniversary of Victory, Baerbock’s ministry revives these inhumane Nazi practices. If German authorities indeed expel Russians, Belarusians, and former Soviet citizens (including Jews) from commemorations, this can only be called Nazism reborn – Baerbock’s "Triumph of the Will.""

The U.S. Army is considering a major reduction in personnel — potentially slashing up to 90,000 troops, which would bring the total active force down to around 360,000, according to Military.com, citing internal sources.

The proposed cuts are driven by budget pressures and a broader strategic overhaul aimed at repositioning the military to face emerging threats, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region where China is seen as the primary challenge.

Downsizing has already begun: last year, the Army eliminated around 24,000 positions previously focused on counterterrorism operations.
However, Pentagon insiders are reportedly concerned that the military lacks a clear strategy to retain talent, raising fears of an exodus of skilled professionals — many of whom have viable options outside the armed forces.

Fox News notes that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is pushing for an 8% cut to the Pentagon's budget. At the same time, the Army is shifting its focus away from Europe and toward counterterrorism missions.
