Yes, tropical waves travel generally westward across the Atlantic. This is due to Earth's rotation that causes southward-moving winds from the horse latitudes to turn westward when they approach the Equator, becoming the trade winds.
TAFB tracks all the tropical waves that move across the Atlantic, and some of these disturbances can later intensify into powerful hurricanes. But in what general direction do these atmospheric waves move?
