Emperor penguins have suffered a “catastrophic breeding failure” after extreme loss of sea ice last year.

According to a recent study, more than 90% of emperor penguin colonies are predicted to be all but extinct by the end of the century.
You’ve heard about Antarctic sea ice lows - well, here’s the consequences.

Over 9,000 emperor penguin chicks from colonies in the Bellingshausen Sea are thought to have died in November 2022.
