#OnThisDay in 2017, @NOAA's #GOES16 🛰️ tracked Hurricane #Harvey making landfall near Rockport, Texas as a Category 4 storm, with winds reaching 130 mph.

While the latest series of GOES satellites had just begun, they were instrumental in monitoring this storm, which was the first major hurricane to strike Texas since Bret in 1999.
