These are my main takeaways from @ESA Council held this week in Paris:

1. From @ESA_Euclid, @JAXA_en's XRISM, a successful Vega launch, @Astro_Andreas piloting #Crew7 and his Commandership of @Space_Station, Aeolus' semi-controlled reentry, and an agreement between Copernicus and the UK that will fill part of the Brexit-induced funding gap, we have a lot to celebrate since we last met.

2. We have finalised preparations for Space Summit, and while delegations still need to go back to their governments and discuss, I can say that the three pillars of importance for Summit focus on climate and sustainability, launchers and access to space, and exploration. We have a good package with significant changes and I can't wait to reveal more.

3. Council endorsed future cooperation with the @UNEP which will cover EO applications from conservation and restoration to disaster risk reduction and innovation for sustainability.

4. Council agreed on EO Programme assistance to Poland 🇵🇱 for its own national EO project. Having an overall budget (funded by Poland) of 85 M€, the programme will be comprised of the "Camilla constellation" and ground segment and will provide real time high-quality data + extension of monitoring services.

5. An Ariane 6 update will be published later tonight.

RT @Energy4Europe: In 2019, EU countries had to submit information to the EC 🇪🇺 for the 1st time, describing the policies & measures addressing #EnergyPoverty in their #NECPs 2021-2030.

They should update these plans by June 2024 and the new EC Recommendation will help in the process.
