#TBT to when @esa_swarm discovered a new type of magnetic wave 🧲

Last year, researchers reported a new type of magnetic wave that sweeps across the 'surface' of Earth's outer core - aka where the core meets the mantle.

This wave oscillates every seven years and propagates at up to 1500 km/year.
