RT @NWS: Last year, Hurricane Helene ravaged Florida’s Big Bend and devastated inland communities, becoming the single-most destructive weather event in 2024. In monitoring and forecasting Helene’s formation, the @NOAA National Hurricane Center (NHC) was able to successfully predict that a tropical weather system would become a potentially destructive hurricane more than 3 days in advance. Through the use of Potential Tropical Cyclone advisories, NHC is now able to provide this advanced notice of potential impacts from these systems.
