In June 2017, a lump of ice broke off Antarctica's Larsen C ice shelf, originating one of the largest icebergs on record. Take a look at its journey:

📌 5 July 2020: A-68A was found in open water near the South Orkney Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean (about 1050 km from its birthplace).

📌 26 November 2020: A-68 was rotating and potentially drifting westwards.

📌 1 December 2020: A-68A was on collision course with the island of South Georgia.

📌 17 December 2020: A large block of ice broke off the upper tip of A-68A.

📌 30 January 2021: A-68A had another shattering experience, as it broke in multiple pieces, avoiding the island of South Georgia.
