#ClimateChange & hashtag#biodiversity loss aren't just environmental issues – they're security concerns.🌿

When access to ecosystem services and natural resources are not equally & evenly distributed, it may lead to conflict.

Clean hydrogen = the production process emits zero fossil fuels.
But what exactly are those methods, and is clean hydrogen a viable and realistic alternative to fossil fuels?

What do see-saws and nature have in common?
They both have their tipping points.

Unless we #ActForOurPlanet, we risk tipping ecosystems past the point of no return.

This week UNDRR head Kamal Kishore met with @ADBPresident at @ADB_HQ in Manila, discussing how disaster risk reduction can be incorporated into investments by multilateral development banks. @UNDRR looks forward to building on its strong partnership with ADB.

Pleased to meet with Mr. Kamal Kishore, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), at ADB Headquarters.

Asia and the Pacific is disproportionately affected by typhoons, weather events, and other disasters, and the disaster risk reduction (DRR) agenda is more important than ever. We discussed the importance of incorporating DRR into investments by multilateral development banks like ADB, including working with the private sector on solutions and ensuring support to vulnerable nations and populations.

ADB has provided $16 billion in support for disaster risk management from 1987 to 2023. Our continued commitment will be guided by our new Disaster Risk Management Action Plan 2024-2030 and ADB's active participation in initiatives such as the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Making Cities Resilient 2030 initiative.

I look forward to a continued strong partnership with UNDRR, and to further discussions next week at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Manila.
